Before this diverges too far. Can we get some input on who went "full SMU" this year and how that's going? Really interested to see what results are coming from that kind of strategy. I'll start. But without great examples. Georgia and Tennessee both replaced their sets of Outside Hitters in the portal. Georgia with no success (some injuries certainly played into that), and Tennessee with medium success (a lesser year than their last couple) But that's only a couple kids. didn’t Penn State hit the portal pretty hard? |

You’re entire starting lineup in a 5-1 is transfers besides your middle (I’m counting Ames as a transfer sorry lol), and halter (assuming Rutherford and Carlson) Yall are petty portal friendly lol I don't think JE would mind going full SMU. Penn State is a top 5 team this season with Mruzik, Hannah, Mendelson, Jurevicius, and Trammell as starting transfers. Louisville is top 5 and has Charitie Luper, Elle Glock, and Sofia Maldonado Diaz. Arizona State is top 10 and has Mary Shroll, Argentina Ung, Shania Cromartie, Savannah Kjolhede, Claire Jeter, Bailey Miller, and Roberta Robelo. |

U R so FOS Swindle actually got better as the 2023 season unfolded and especially in the post-season. joining in on the conversation. Swindle was so inconsistent all season. I can’t believe people didn’t pay attention to how off she was. Yes she was a freshman but stats don’t lie. Asjia and Molly’s numbers went down tremendously. She had a great tournament minus the Texas A&M game. Swindle had a great tournament and that’s it. There’s a reason she didn’t get any Big 12 conference awards/honors or AVCA All Region honors/awards. |

My predictions for the portal offseason
- choboy enters realizing that she’ll never wear the libero jersey if she doesn’t leave Nebraska
- swindle leaves, feel like the reason would be pretty obvious there
- Kerr leaves
- Florida will lose somebody big. If it’s Martin I swear to god I’m jumping off a bridge if she goes to Nebraska
Also to whoever runs the portal - block Brooklyn deleyes number please

My predictions for the portal offseason - choboy enters realizing that she’ll never wear the libero jersey if she doesn’t leave Nebraska - swindle leaves, feel like the reason would be pretty obvious there - Kerr leaves - Florida will lose somebody big. If it’s Martin I swear to god I’m jumping off a bridge if she goes to Nebraska Also to whoever runs the portal - block Brooklyn deleyes number please Choboy certainly could enter the portal as Nebraska has another DS coming in this year as well. They always want 3 in the back though so if she does they would then potentially go after another or they would use Maise in that role. Currently Nebraska is losing a starting OPP and they have a freshman coming in that can take that position but most definitely probably want someone experienced in that role. Could Landfair play OPP yes but I don't believe she likes that |

Mauch imo is the heir apparent at libero and she subs in for Landfair, who is never gonna be playing backcourt. Mauch serves and plays all 3 rotations. Choboy subs for Beason AFTER Beason serves and plays 2 rotations. Beason is far more likely to play 6 RO if Nebraska needs more offensive options and she has subbed back into the backcourt for Choboy in rare situations when they're bleeding points. Nebraska values passing and Mauch passes better than Choboy. Choboy makes flashier defensive plays but Mauch is steady in defense. |

K Martin and Deleye better stay at FL and KY. Don't need the top teams stockpiling more of the best players.
