Eh, Pitt beat Louisville who’s a much better team than Wisconsin… yes this was a sweep but I don’t feel like the AVCA really takes that into account Wait until they find out Nebraska also beat Louisville Mk but I was talking about recent wins, you know AVCA has recency bias. At the end of the day Pitt beat 4 and Nebraska beat 7… |

This came down to Nebraska’s balance and Wisconsin’s imbalance..
I cannot believe Huskers swept with Jackson not having her best night. I also thought Bergan was shaky in many moments..
But a win is a win. Round 2 will be here before we know it.

Anna and Carter are seriously struggling and it's not the setting. Anna is hitting perfectly fine sets 10' out of bounds. Carter doesn't get a kill and barely a block or block touch. Absolutely the worst. Cannot blame setting for their disastrous seasons.

I picked Huskers in three because (1) the top-ranked matchups this year have been generally one-sided, (2) this season is all about NEB and Pitt, in a league by themselves, and (3) I noticed 7% of the VT votes were for NEB in 3 so it’s a pretty good bet based on many of the polls I’ve seen where the majority were quite wrong.

Wisconsin has been making baffling lineup choices all season, and tbh that lack of defined roles (aside from Sarah) really hurts the team.
I don’t want to blame it all on this, but, in my opinion, Sheffield not being able to land a reliable OH from the portal during the offseason, and waffling on the upperclassmen MB/RS’s, kinda kicked off a domino effect of lineup issues and error-prone play that I think we’re watching play out now.
Imagine if he had gotten Landfair or Acevedo to be the other OH with Franklin, then Orzol plays Lib, GG and Schumacher DS, and a firm commitment was made for Smrek to Opp, Robinson to M1, and either CC or Booth to M2. IMO that team would be way stronger.
Volleyball teams need clearly defined roles, and Franklin’s role can’t be “the only point scorer on the team.” It’s a shame, I want better for the Badgers, and for this rivalry.
