I picked sweep in the poll, but I didn't really think it would happen. I fully expected five sets. GBR!

Husker serve took it up another level tonight! How about that! Damn good to see. It's tough to do every game, but they have shown they can ramp up the service pressure against elite opponents. Minimal errors as well as has been the case all year. Tough to beat them when they bring the elite serve element. Louisville and Stanford also come to mind- great opponents who were whipped by the Huskers serve. Huskers fans are here for it.

People love to diss on our serving since we definitely lack some flashy/crazy strong servers (which we donāt need) but weāre clearly much improved from years past in terms of service errors and just keeping the ball in play, yet still fairly tough consistently. As you said, weāve been good enough throughout the year so far to keep several good teams pressured in SR so š¤·š½āāļø canāt complain.

I know this is petty of me, but I can't resist. Emily Ehman and Lee Feinswog in a podcast a couple days before this match: E: "Wisconsin looks like the best team in the B1G hands down." LF: "You know I agree with you, and all you Nebraska fans who just went into convulsions...eyeball test" E: "Well we call them the W-A-N , always the What About Nebraska folk. Doesn't matter what you say, always gonna be someone saying What About Nebraska" LF: hahaha E: "Love them to death but there are times when you gotta realize you aren't the best" Pettiness is encouraged. But seriously, Wisconsin looked like the best team in the Big 10 "hands down?" Because they swept Purdue? Lol.

Itās like actually inexcusable I think Robinson's health is far from 100%. what is her health issue then? she looks just fine. either way, she needs to be out there even if not 100

There are sometimes under volleyball posts on Twitter where if you mention all kinds of players, and not one Nebraska player is mentioned, then there are going to be replies "No one from Nebraska?" But boy did players prove them wrong tonight on the court. Sure. There were also trolls commenting on our 2x medal winning (gold included) OLYMPIC libero bashing her bc they were 11 years old when they first saw Hentz make a pancake dig from far away. There's always gonna be dumb annoying ppl online. It was just weird and somewhat obnoxious to be like "just accept Wisconsin's better than you" before the match had even taken place As an IG casual, Iām offended by this post š¤Hentz for NPOY

Wisconsin has been making baffling lineup choices all season, and tbh that lack of defined roles (aside from Sarah) really hurts the team. I donāt want to blame it all on this, but, in my opinion, Sheffield not being able to land a reliable OH from the portal during the offseason, and waffling on the upperclassmen MB/RSās, kinda kicked off a domino effect of lineup issues and error-prone play that I think weāre watching play out now. Imagine if he had gotten Landfair or Acevedo to be the other OH with Franklin, then Orzol plays Lib, GG and Schumacher DS, and a firm commitment was made for Smrek to Opp, Robinson to M1, and either CC or Booth to M2. IMO that team would be way stronger. Volleyball teams need clearly defined roles, and Franklinās role canāt be āthe only point scorer on the team.ā Itās a shame, I want better for the Badgers, and for this rivalry. I don't.

I doubt Acevedo starts over Julia Orzol. If so, it's because Orzol is needed at libero, not because Acevedo is better. (OTOH Landfair would absolutely have started, bumping Orzol to Libero where she would be an upgrade to Schumacher) 2. I think you don't really know what you're talking about with firm commitments. Smrek has been #1 opposite since she got healthy, Robinson has been only an M1, and CC and Booth have been primarily M2s (part of why CC and Charlie struggled with the slide connection when Devyn was pulled). While he's tinkered a bit with who's going to play, Sheffield has been clear on the roles of the players. 3. I'm not all that sure it matters. Nebraska is really talented and when they are on they are incredibly difficult to play against. Meanwhile, Wisconsin has a freshman setter not named Starck, a freshman libero, and their only middle who closes well to the pins lacks offensive firepower. Yes, Franklin is an Olympic prospect. Nebraska has like 3 or 4 of those (it's kind of gross) and because of the setter situation plays with more cohesion. Even if Taylor Landfair was a Badger, I think Wisconsin still loses against a Nebraska team playing like this.

the fact the majority picked wisconsin to win... smh I mean, it was a home match for them AND Nebraska had not won there in 11 years, so I can see the justification.

Heading off to bed over here in Europe. Here's to hoping I wake up with good news. I could never, right before the match starts?? Iād be staying up for sure lol It was already 1:30 in the morning and unfortunately I don't have access to American streaming services so I'm not able to watch live anyway. I could have followed this thread live but that's about it. I'm very reliant on the games showing up on YouTube to enjoy them.
