Good thing I have ESPN+. it's going to be a busy weekend.
A) I kind of like that all teams qualify in the SoCon. All it takes is a hot streak! I'm rooting for whoever is last place. B) Last few years, the MEAC was the only Championship match that made ESPN real live TV. You would think that with the ratings of volleyball over the last year, ESPN would show one more Finale in addition to MEAC. I mean how many years in a row can we watch Howard shred the rest of the conference? I swear they win like 90% of the time. C) How is Chicago St in the Northeast Conference? When did this happen and why? This doesn't make a lot of sense for anyone. D) If SDSU loses in their Final do they have an at large shot?

vballfreak808 I don't think Georgia State and Southern Miss have qualified out of the Sun Belt, though it seems like they will. UL-Lafayette could still jump Southern Miss and Old Dominion could still jump Georgia State, but, both of those are extremely unlikely. ODU plays Arkansas State and UL-Lafayette plays Georgia Southern, #1 and #2 Sun Belt-East.

ODU plays Arkansas State and UL-Lafayette plays Georgia Southern, #1 and #2 Sun Belt-East. Based on qualifications for the Sun Belt Championships: "Seeding: The top five seeds from each division shall be determined by each team’s won-loss percentage in conference matches within your division only during the regular season to seed the Sun Belt Women's Volleyball Championship." The Sun Belt teams which is split into 7 East & 7 West teams, are scheduled to played each team from their division twice (12 games) and two teams from the other division (4 games). For this last week of regular season, the teams are playing teams from the other division which means the current standings should already be set for seeding. For the #5 West spot, Southern Miss & Louisiana tied at 4-8 in their division, split their series for the head-to-head for the first tie-breaker, but the second tie-breaker is set percentage amongst that head-to-head series which Southern Miss has the advantage 5-4.

If you’re going to have intentional disparities in strength of schedule within the conference, it’s wise to have tournament qualification be only based on record against your division. Last year, all 14 teams made the tournament so they didn’t have to do this.

MAC (4/6)Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Ball State As discussed in the MAC thread, Buffalo has also clinched. They can't lose the tiebreaker.

Bucknell-Colgate are playing H2H for hosting rights in the Patriot League Tournament.
At 12-9 Bucknell in the 5th - Bucknell's starting setter goes down. The announcers say that Bucknell's backup setter is not available or dressed today? Seems like a Bucknell starting OH will do the setting duties for Bucknell
Bucknell starting S returns at 14-12 in the 5th - but it doesn't make a difference! Colgate ties it at 14 all.. wow.
Colgate gets a match point at 15-14 - Bucknell S dump saves match point. Colgate sides out to get another match point at 16-15.
oh lord. Colgate wins 17-15 on... a TAPE ace.
Absolutely brutal for Bucknell on Senior Night. Colgate gets the hosting rights.

There's some stuff going down in the MAC:
Bowling Green needs 1 more set to clinch hosting rights - they're down 19-21 in the 3rd set but lead the match 2-0 vs. Ohio U
Toledo needs Ohio U to lose that match ^ so Toledo can qualify for the MAC Tournament. If Ohio U wins - Ohio U qualifies.
Central Michigan needs to win to have any chance to get hosting rights. They are in a battle with Akron. Central won set 1 26-24, dropped set 2, and squeaked out set 3 by a score of 31-29 to take a 2-1 lead in the match.

I can't imagine how the Toledo team is feeling watching this. Toledo needed very specific results: Toledo going 2-0, Buffalo beating EMU at least once, Ohio U going 0-2 against Bowling Green. Everything played out the way Toledo needed so far - this is the last piece of their puzzle and it's looking like the toughest part.
BGSU-Ohio U having hosting lines on the right for one team and another team just trying to get a tournament berth is definitely leading to a heated match...
Ohio U up 11-6 on BGSU in the 4th
but also.....
Akron up 17-14 on CMU in the 4th.
Wild!
