If you expect to contend in the B1G, you can't take a 12-3 lead in a set and then lose that set.
(Especially after losing a set 25-9.)

This is so Penn State this year. Crushes a Top 15 squad, struggles against a team coming off a loss to Ohio State. It's amazing, really.

Can any of the UW middles really connect on a slide? The UW middles (two sophmores and a true freshman) have had limited experience developing the slide at this level, particularly with UW playing a lot of 6-2. I think that the comments about not wanting Hunt to be forced to hit the slide are more relative to how effective she has been in front of the setter, especially for a true freshman. I have no doubt that she will develop a more effective slide, but needs more reps at this level. Accumulating some of that experience may be the silver lining with her having to hit it now. Wessels was doing a bit better with the slide, but, oh yeah, she's injured. Frankly, the Huskies are blessed with three talented, young middles that we should be watching develop for several more years.

Penn State loses much of its offense with the graduation of Hannah, Trammel and Mrsick. They have good players left, and good recruits coming in, but next year will be a rebuild year. Washington will do better in the BIG next year, and may beat us.

She's SO effective in front of the setter.

You mean if she can successfully fend off Kelly, who will be hungry to restock to cupboard...
