it's funny because i thought Carlson was straying away from going to Madi throughout the game, yet i think that's the setting strat? i think Madi does better as the game goes on and our middles + Rutherford perform better at the beginning of matches SO we go to them first and slowly work Madi in until she is in her groove SQUASHING and SUFFOCATING our opponents by the end of the match

Kudos to Averi for stabilizing and guiding the offense. I mean, everyone was good to great tonight. I thought Carlson played one of her best matches at Texas. Kudos also to those with great serve receive giving Carlson so many options. |

As the stream started, they showed the OU players celebrating their win in Austin a few weeks ago; Coach Mansfield in the locker room screaming while his players sprayed him with water/gatorade. Wonder if he'd trade that win for a win tonight in front of his soldout home crowd who didn't get much to cheer about as it turns out.

I gotta give some credit to Shelton. 14 kills, hitting 0.324, second on Oklahoma's side in digs. She's a great competitor. Glad the longhorns were able to slow her down a little and shut down the rest of the team.

wenaas seemed more confident & worked really hard tonite I thought she passed very well. As much as the female TV analyst raved about Skinner, she was talking about Wenaas' all-around play early in the match and several times as the match progressed including mentioning "perfect pass" a couple of times at least. |
