No offense to Nikolov but I truly hope he does not get player of the year. Hopefully an actual American born and raised athlete can grab that honor again, mostly because itās not making the sport look great in the states if we canāt produce high level athletes deserving of the award. Hawai'i has had great foreign players too. I don't really get this argument--whoever is most deserving should get it regardless of where they're from (and especially, regardless if they make someone else look bad).

I love the foreign players and they bring so much to the NCAA game but I'd also like to see an American man get the award. The hard part though is that the foreign players who have won the award has actually been the better players. Last year for example, I really like what Champlin and McHenry did for UCLA and would have loved to see one of them win the award but it was too hard to deny Henno with all the scoring tools he has and the way he carried his team to the a final four.

As much as I'd like to see an American born player get the award, NPOY needs to stay merit based.

Whether you get it or not is a non factor to me. What I said is that I want to see a player thatās developed within the American system get the award. Not because Iām anti-foreign players but I would like to see American coaching and players in general, look like they are developing high level players that can win these awards. For the sake of the sport and our own national team.

I donāt want to see Nikolov win it because of name recognition when there are a lot of solid setters in country, doing a really good job for their teams. Even Thelle had to develop into being āThe Guyā where I feel like Simeon has already been anointed.

People have seen footage of him playing - the hype is not unfounded. He is very, very good. All things being said, I am rooting for Robinson to make a case for POTY this season and lead UCLA

The best male players in the world are coming from countries many times smaller and less resourced than the US--France, Poland, Slovenia, even Cuba. Even if you factor in that the best US males athletes go into basketball rather than volleyball, there is still plenty of room for the US to be better than those countries, and that on us not the foreign players. And don't get me started on what a non-factor you are ....

I said that your opinion of my position on the matter was a non factor TO ME. Itās the goddamn holidays man give it a rest for once, I have.

You genuinely don't think that you responding that way was not provocative? (I basically was letting it slide, but just letting you know.)
