LBSU went 2-0 vs UCSD this season and has actually never lost (9-0) to this program. I expect this is going to be very close and may go five sets since these teams are pretty even and everything is on the line. I have LBSU winning in 5 but prefer in 3  .

last year's quarterfinals were entertaining battles

both matches Beach-IRvine & Davis-Poly went 5 sets, with a lot of back and forth - and gave a preview of how well Irvine and Davis would be this year

there's a different urgency to the matches in the BWCT, and level of desperation that enters in to the matches

the Big West will only get one team in the NCAAs, despite the conference as a whole being significantly better than last year due to the improvement of IRvine, Poly, Davis, UCSD while only SB had the most distinct decline from last year.
