I mean, Babcock is only the returning national player of the year. Just only. Having Babcock for sure still puts them way up there, my only question is the setting i know they got Mosher but from Fairbanks to Mosher. They should i have waited could have gotten Carlson maybe 😂 Dupes is good but again from Klika to Dupes. I know they are all big shoes to fill same applies to other top teams but after losing Torrey that was a huge blow for Pitt seems like they’re moving backwards idk but i could be wrong. Many team proved me wrong last season so this is my off season take Fish has a way of bringing out the best in his players. Pitt was final 4 without Liv & Tor...replacing Rachel is the biggest challenge.

Based on the poll question of 'most improved', I have a hard time picking Pitt and Louisville. How do you get better than a semifinal and final appearance, respectively, considering the pieces they're both losing? Stanford is leading, which in my mind means that people are expecting them to make the semis or final. I think we could see teams like Notre Dame or SMU improving their tournament results. I wouldn't at all be surprised if SMU improves given all of the players they bought transfers they recruited.

Pitt and Stanford I still think are the favorites, since both have multiple AA's coming back. Pitt only returns Babcock and Kelley Stanford is the favorite imo, Parks could lead them to a Final 4 again Also Ryla Jones returns for Pitt

Back in early 2024, Stanford wasn’t really picked to do well in the tournament as they just lost Kipp, Baird and Vicini to graduation…but eventually did well enough to be seeded 5th overall and almost beat Louisville in regional finals.
I think 2025 is going to be same trajectory however it will be interesting as we obviously lost Miner, Francis and Oglivie to gradution however like what Hammer said, we also gained another excellent recruiting class - Logan Parks (one of the best prep setters), Erika Sayer - a fantastic slide hitter and blocker, Spencer Etzler - poised to be the next libero of the team who Hambly considers as the best libero prospect of the class, Kaci Demaria - a top 10 OH and Reese Dunkle - another top MB.
Apart from that, we return the trio of pin hitters in Elia Rubin, Ipar Kurt and Jordyn Harvey and of course Lizzy Andrews who was arguably one of the better freshman MBs of the class. Yu is also coming back - who could very well compete on that starting setter position.
However, the biggest talent that Stanford will hopefully have is a healthy Julia Blyashov - a top 5 OH of her class and a USA Junior National Team player. I think if she is healthy enough, there is no doubt she is going to start and will add more height (she’s 6’3).
With that being said, anything can happen but I expect Stanford will continue to perform really well despite not having any transfers.

Why is notre dame getting a lot of votes? no shade just curious They've picked up some nice players, and when you're at the bottom, the only direction is up (i.e., most improved).

I think sanford will exceed most volleytalk expectations next season, again. Everyone except nebraska is basically starting from scratch and their roster is one of the best imo

Getting Laynie Smith and Emily Bobbitt definitely added to North Carolina's chances of getting into the upper tier. Laynie and Chelsea will prob be tasked with absorbing the loss of Shaffmaster. Safi is more the capable on the LS. Big question for UNC is does a current freshie or transfer take the OH2 spot.
I think that you will also see Duke make a jump....good freshmen with a good class coming in.

From their first scrimmage against GT Men's Club VB a couple weeks ago (take it with a grain of salt) but their starting lineup was something like
OH: Mambu/Despaigne OPP: Mendes/Lopouyo MB: Mogridge/Pierce S: Soares (had Luanna play here) L: Velez
Garibaldi was out and don't think she's played in the spring yet.
