You know what you call a Polish Volleyball Player who signs to play with U$C??? yeah Beachman...you call her a smart player that doesn't want to play at a lesser program like Long Beach State I was thinking more along the lines of CHEATERS!

sure Beach...just use the term cheaters simply because BG can't recruit any good players anymore... when you open the paper tomorrow and the day after and the day after that...notice how it's only USC and UCLA sports being mentioned....Long Beach State is an afterthought now...the 90s are over.... so keep whining Beach, but guess what...Mick is a good coach and doesn't have to cheat to do it.... ::::handing Beach some cheese to go with his wine:::::

Mick is playing now with HIS players, not the ones that Jerrit recruited! These kids from the Idaho JC didn't go to a major University first because they didn't have the grades! They are also, in all probability not eligible to get into any State School in California because the requirements are higher than they are for a private institution like U$C! ;D

awwww...don't get bitter just because Mick has coached two national championships (while Jerritt did not win any and has not won any at Texas) in recent years unlike BG.... yeah...we all know Long Beach State is just barely above Long Beach City College in terms of entrance requirements...who are you kidding?...then again the Beach is good at producing nursing students and future strippers... we know Beach...you just hate the fact that the Galen Center will make the Pyramid look like a high school gym next year... enjoy drinking the USC Haterade a little more, Beach

I love that U$C haterade Good %*$#! However you obviously know very little about the comparative entrance requirements for the CSU and UC Systems, because aside from the fact that they are equal, they are both waaaaaaaaaay above that at Pigskin U. furthermore you can build the finest basketball arena around, but it ain't gonna help your pitiful crowds! BTW, any of your football stars been arrested lately? Doesn't seem to make much difference though as the coach still lets em play.....Nice example that they set for the youth of L.A.. Then again U$C being located in the Ghetto is right in line with them crips and bloods who exhibit such fine standards! YaknowwhatImean?

Beach and SCya feel free to continue the feud......but back to the topic for a second: The NCAA determines that: "A professional team is an organized team that declares itself to be professional or provides them more than actual or necessary expenses......" Here's the link to the city of Wroclaw that, in fact, "declares" it's volleyball team to be professional: www.askfactmaster.com/Wroclaw#SportsHow much easier does this @#$% get to define? These players were pro's, most likely under signed contract, playing with and against other pro's (Nicole Davis for example)! Does it say what it says?

These players were pro's, most likely under signed contract, playing with and against other pro's (Nicole Davis for example)! It does not always work that way in Europe. The youth/junior club systems (or US equivalent of such systems) which are pretty much the only way to play the game in young ages are run by what you call the pro clubs. Almost every team in Europe has more than one team (some as many as 10) that competes in different divisions/age groups and classifications. Not all of these compete in pro leagues... Thus, playing for a team that calls itself a professional volleyball club does not always mean that the player herself/himself is a professional....

Gee...
I noticed Mickey doing plenty of his own whining about the tournament so I guess whining works just fine at USC in general as well.

I actually liked Haley's comments regarding USC's position in the tournament. He was honest but didn't lack tact (unlike Rubio). He stated that he would have liked to have seen teams spread across the various regionals more to see different match-ups (since it'd be more exciting for the sport and I totally agree w/ that). He mentioned that he was grateful that SC gets to host the first couple rounds. He was also quite humble in saying that SC was not "excellent" yet but that they were improving.

Sorry to disappoint you, Beachman, but the academic requirements of UC and CSU systems are different. The CSU system has open admission, whereby as long as you meet the minimum requirements, you can register for classes. For the UC, the minimum requirements may be the same as CSU (for apply for admisision), but often successful acceptance require a higher SATs and GPA scores. And USC academic level is rising, if you have been following the various publications. In many of them, USC is in top 20-30 (even higher for specific professional schools). In California, USC is only ranked behind Stanford, UC Berkeley and UCLA. I hope this would shed some knowledge for your uninformed mind.

Beachman, get this -- USC is ranked no. 30 on the best national universities (and the ranking has been shooting up for the last decade), behind Stanford (#5), California Institute of Technology (#7), UC Berkeley (#20) and UCLA (#25) among California universities. Not bad for a university located in the ghetto

Speaking of being in a ghetto, you might consider chaging "shooting up" to something else next time you compare such things.
