Nice showing by the Bobcats but they had too many breakdowns down the stretch, and Arizona played their best down the stretch.

Has bomber started singing yet? Actually, I suspect he has been singing ever since Hawaii lost.

I thought Parra was great, and the blocking was inconsequential. To take her out was not smart.

33-3, that close to the regional final. Great season for the Bobcats. Only Florida(33 wins) and Nebraska(31 wins), can pass them for wins on the season. They were one of 6 30+ win teams(4 of them went down tonight). Washington can join the club tomorrow.
Wonder if Geoff will stick around in Athens, cause he's now a hot commodity. Would he maybe leave for Pacific?

Would he maybe leave for Pacific? I would think Geoff would leave if the right job came around. I don't know if that's UOP or not. But you're right, he's going to be one of those names that comes up all the time...along with Charlie Wade and Lee Maes.

I thought Parra was great, and the blocking was inconsequential. To take her out was not smart. Yep. Both coaches with questionable moves in game 5. Rubio starting Glass serving paid off, cause she was in the front row during the final run, but the odds say that's a stupid move. Geoff taking Parra out cost them. I'm sure he'd like to redo that.

I was rooting for AZ but how can you not like Ohio for playing with such enthusiam and like they have a pure love for the game? Sayonara to Schetzsle and Winkfield, but with their recruiting class coming in, we'll probably see Ohio do well next year in the tournament, too. A really storybook season for the Bobcats.
But for now, the other 'cats get congrats. Can the Wildcats buck the Broncos? Both teams will play in an arena they are familiar with and it should be fun.

Is Ohio the latest version of UNI? Smaller conference power house that makes noise nationally? I hope they stick around for a while. They are fun to watch. I hope UNI can make a return to being a top 25 team as well.
I think their run, as well as seeing some of the other 5th and 6th place teams from the big conferences not faring so well, will give the committee something to think about in the future, when they are trying to decide between a small conference team or an average team from a power conference. The way this entire tournament has gone has been really good for the sport, I believe and hopefully it leads to better seedings and brackets in the future. Parity has arrived, people better believe that and know there are good teams spread all across the country in a lot of conferences. Long gone are the days when it was just a west coast sport. I think looking at the teams left, that is pretty clear.

Did Glass serving match her up with Parra? Or was that the matchup all night? Might explain Geoff's move, too. And wasn't he just pulling her when they were serving? Probably felt they didn't have anything to lose.

I thought Parra was great, and the blocking was inconsequential. To take her out was not smart. I was sitting near (believe it or not) Jon Stevenson and Mike Dodd. They were wondering why she was taken out, and if it might come back to bite Ohio. Those two were very nice when I picked their minds about assorted volleyball things. BTW - Stevenson said that in that interview with the SLO paper, he wasn't singling out Cal as being unworthy of an NCAA Tournament bid, but that the NCAA seems to be ingenuous that certain conferences aren't favored by selection committees. I expressed to him that I thought his team was robbed.

Sometimes, I even believe the stuff that comes out of my mouth.

OU took the setter out for one rotation to block and then she was back in, she was only out for one point b/c Glass was hitting over Parra...they got in a bad rotation it looks like 5'8 versus Glass is a tough one...they tried to block switch as well. Glass just stepped up. Parra was only out for one point, that was all.
Give credit to Glass...she got in the front row and was unstoppable, hitting and blocking. Great match overall, Ohio showed some guts and it could have gone either way, 15-12 in game 5, good stuff.
