I think this is one of the saddest displays of class I have ever seen in my life. Are you referring to the way Pavan and several other Huskers snubbed the UW players, refusing to look at them or even shake their hands, after the match was over? Real classy.

Pavan was in the "hand shake" line at the end of the match.
Did I miss something?

I don't think they snubbed them. They just don't want to be seen crying.

Pavan was in the "hand shake" line at the end of the match. Did I miss something? Yep. You missed her turning her back and walking away as Tomasevic was about to shake her hand

Well, that was ST after all. Was she still holding the trophy, too?

I'm not trashing ST. I just think there was some residual bad feelings about her quotes--and then she's also got the trophy. I could see where it might be hard for Pavan to shake her hand.
No big deal to me. I like 'em both.

The winning team ought to be allowed to celebrate after the match, but the referee (and the winning team's coach) ought to take control fairly quickly to get them to the handshake line to show respect for the other team.
The troph(y/ies) ought to be kept away from the court until the formal presentation is done well after the completion of the match and the handshake line.

I also expect coaches to control their players better. Especially coaches like the two in this championship match that have both won national championships before tonight. I expect referees to have better control of the situation as well. I guess I expect too much.

I think this is one of the saddest displays of class I have ever seen in my life. Not to say it was classy, but you must not have seen many sad displays of class, especially if we are including internet stuff. On the other note, at least the huskers have articles, and not just little write-ups the athletic department puts out, that must be nice. The winning team ought to be allowed to celebrate after the match, but the referee (and the winning team's coach) ought to take control fairly quickly to get them to the handshake line to show respect for the other team. IMO the referee having anything to do with the handshake line defeats the point of having one.

An NCAA person came over and shoved it into her hands. She was in the middle of the celebration, got the trophy, then they organized the handshake line. What was she supposed to do, say "No thinks, I think I'll wait"? I doubt she has let go of the thing yet .
