Oh, the Honolulu Advertiser will be quick to point out that Aratani, a Hawaii native helped the Huskies win the championship!

Actually that was very few people, and it seems in my observation that some people just don't Nebraska and you know what It's okay...Not everybody going to like us. But whining about it? Its bad form, and its conduct unbecoming a champion. And win or lose, Nebraska Volleyball is a champion. Regardless of the poor match our lasses played in the final, those kids are always champs in my eyes. Washington coldly executed our girls with solid fundamental play. We got spanked tonight, and for us fans a little trash talk is part of the spanking. The lasses are more disappointed that we could ever be, and I dare say they are a little embarassed. But I do know, those kids are going to remember this feeling and they are going to work hard to get to Omaha next year and write a better ending. As far as the "trophy to the net thing"? I saw it and I saw the whole aftergame play out (nice advantage of seeing the game on satellite). To me kids shook hands, they hugged. I even saw kids having conversation and giving congratulations. I didn't see bad sportmanship. What I saw was a happy team and a sad team. Sometimes in dislike or disappointment we see what we want to see, and not what we really saw. In any case. Its been a great season. Congratulation to Washington...and Congratulations to my girls. I know the teams I watch where I live now would give anything just to make the field of 64.

Chipper: I agree with your post. I cringed a little when I watched Sanja carry that trophy to the net, but someone handed her the trophy and I'm not sure what else she could have done. Set it on the floor and go to the net? Awkward moment, but not that big of a deal.
It's a tough time in that kind of venue for the losing team. Your hopes just got crushed, yet you still need to hang around in front of 9,000 fans plus a national TV audience and accept trophies and watch the other team celebrate. Those are two great teams, but the Huskies just played at a slightly higher level at several key moments. I've watched the Huskies all season and that was by far their finest performance. Big thanks to UCLA. That one loss was a very imporant reminder

BiK's liked UW since they beat Hawaii twice in Hawaii. Period. And that was not a "butt-kicking". Florida over Hawaii was a butt-kicking. You are soooooooooooo much a homer, BiK. Lol, (R)uff. Actually I expect that kind of comment from you. I mean, you have a hard time remembering what you did yesterday........... I don't expect you to remember comments I made on this very board, 3 years ago. Like I said before, check the stats, doof! 12/10/05 at 19:49, bomber wrote: Great season girls......once again you finished one game farther ahead than the another certain team..... Considering the favorable draw they got, I'm not surprised. Who gets swept in a regional match anyway? I'll answer my own question....Wisconsin. Logged -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I remember comments you made on this board, BIK. Who gets swept in the Championship game, anyway?? Nebraska. Looks more and more like the Badger's season wasn't quite the disappointment you thought it was.

Oh, the Honolulu Advertiser will be quick to point out that Aratani, a Hawaii native helped the Huskies win the championship! Yes, they follow all the home-grown talent and their accomplishments. Should anyone have issue with that? Everytime I've seen Washington this year, I'd watch Aratani come in and make a service error or missing the transition dig. I was beginning to wonder why she was being brought in just to serve. Well she brought it in the final, because she dug up some BOMBS. Go HONOLULU ADVERTISER!!!
