This was pretty much the expected within most of Mizuno Long Beach. She had developed a relationship with Barboza over the years and it appeared that might be the kicker. If this shakes out to be true, it supports my contention that many So Cal players go to play points north in the state and many No Cal players seem to migrate south. Its all part of the common posture that many players say that they want to be away from home, but not too far away, and stay in Calif.

But both were basing it off that broadcast. Could they have made a mistake. Where in Rich and John when we need them. I have received no information on this.

An update to (hopefully) quell the rumor:
Unregistered User (3/4/06 10:53 pm) Reply Klineman DID NOT COMMIT ANYWHERE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was just announced today, just now, on FSN (Loyola-Mira Costa boys vball match live) that Alix has commited to Stanford. She picks the Cardinal over UCLA and Texas it seems....
Wow!! Barboza, Fouluke, Okaba, Klineman, Girard and Kehoe in '07. (sorry for mispellings)
JTawa note: Alix e-mailed me that she is not close to committing anywhere. Hopefully that puts this to rest.

Riddle me this, Batman: How can she commit unless she's admitted? I thought that was the deal with Stanford.
Soooooooooo, that begs a lot of other questions, doesn't it?
How's Barboza, btw? Anyone know?

How the Hell could Fox Sports have screwed this up so badly? Maybe Bill O'Reilly is doing double duty as one of their fact-checkers?

I think you hit the nail on the head, (R). It is not a done deal until Stanford announces its admissions next year. The PrepBV quote ("JTawa note: Alix e-mailed me that she is not close to committing anywhere. Hopefully that puts this to rest.") is quite supportive that she ain't going to be committing anywhere for quite a while, that is until the Cardinal officially accept her. Some loose lips probably got sewed up.

Well, when Cynthia commited her junior year, it was March 23rd. So they do some early acceptance I think.

From an earlier post ..."IF this is true Dunning is gonna be on another big Stanford run, cause with all of the POY's that they have gotten they should be flat out unstoppable for the next 4 or 5 years(barring injury of course, right CB?). " "You would think so, but they still have Dunning which should even things out. "
------------------------------------------------------------------
Gee I thought I wasn't the only one not greatly impressed by Dunning. Jon Wallace, care to defect?

Gee I thought I wasn't the only one not greatly impressed by Dunning. Jon Wallace, care to defect? Is this because he played Schultz as the Libero for 4 years? Well, if so, I second your opinion. Still, he is a great coach I think....some decisions could have been better made. (but what do we know, right? It's always easier to be a critic.)

Alix has the grades for any school in the country. Obviously, Stanford would be a perfect fit.
