Just a couple points on CSUN and Aaron Ferre.
CSUN as I've posted elsewhere is a clear tier two team. I don't care who they've beaten. They have some nice wins, but they are short on talent comparative to the BYU's, Pepperdine's, Hawaii's, etc. I also don't care what their ranking is because at this stage in the season rankings mean very little. Add to that the number of men's D1 teams there are and a No. 7 ranking means even less. I've seen them play and they are led by a setter with alot of heart and they're a gritty bunch that absolutely stole one from BYU, but they are not a serious threat.
Ferre is, at this point, very, very average, and frankly not very good comparative to the players he's surrounded by, but he does have potential. You really have to see him practice and play, because he still looks really awkward out there and he needs to really work on his footwork. Glad he got rid of the goggles though.

OK
Sorry to all who think I am baggin on Aaron Ferre. For the record. I am not saying Aaron Ferre sucks. I am just clearly stating that UCI is not a power house in the nation, and I used a average middle (who works hard, and I am sure is a nice kid) can hit .900 on them. Granted he plays for a very good team with a lot of weapons, but I am sure UCLA, Pepp, or Hawaii would of noticed that he had 17 kills and they would of stopped him.
That is all. Sorry to the Aaron Ferre fan club.
For the record cougarize. I have seen Aaron Ferre practice, and play. Plus, I even saw him play in High School. Trust me he was terrible in High School, and the improvements he has made in his game is commendable.

I don't think the issue was whether A.Ferre is a great MB. My point was to show that his teammates are so good that they draw the block away from the middle so that a player of Aaron's level (wherever you see it) can hit for such a high percentage and be so effective. UCI isn't a top 7 team, but they aren't a pushover either.
On a different note: If Patak isn't playing I think SB is at an obvious disadvantage playing at BYU. BYU should sweep the Gauchos both nights IF Patak is not playing. He is a big loss and it is too bad for BYU if they don't get to play against him. Especially with Pepperdine and Hawaii coming up with outstanding outside hitters of their own, it would be good preparation.
