Give me some stats and I'll agree. I have noticed there are always 3 or 4 teams better then them. I know last year they were terrible, and 2002 they were at least ranked 5 or 6. In 2001, I only saw them in the National Championship game and they were outblocked 15 to 3 I believe. So prove it, and I'll say I am wrong. I think the last time they were really good at blocking would be the last year they won a National Championship, but recently, I fear they have been fair at best.
UCLA's strength has always been depth. They always have some of the best players in the nation as back ups.

I'm really impressed with Long Beach beating UCLA twice this year, both times were sweeps! What's the big change for them over last year?

I think Hilderbrand is the key factor, he is an awesome setter, plus their senior class was the top recruiting class four years ago, Wooten and Touzinsky are strong terminators.

Something tells me that these two teams will meet again! They should be the two teams facing off for an NCAA Title in May. It is impressive that BYU did what they did in Long Beach especially considering they weren't even at full strength with their middles. UCLA and LBSU will have another chance to meet in the 2nd round of the Conference tourney. I would love to see UCLA get spanked as many times as possible this year. Al will have that many more reasons to accuse other teams of using illegal players and will graduate his first non-NCAA-title-winning class in his career.

Yeah, I think I am a little more impressed with the twice sweep of UCLA by LBS than BYU's sweep of LBS. UCLA doesn't get beat 3-0 very often and to have it done twice by the same team is also very unusual. I'm not for UCLA. I'd like nothing better than for them to be sitting home in May. But, again, there is a lot of season left and it seems early to be crowning a MPSF champion, let alone the final two in the NCAA finals. ;D

Right, to their credit they have only gotten swept 3-0 once this year, by UCSB. Their other 3 losses were all 5 gamers. They're 1-3 in 5 game matches.
