That's what I used to think in the 2003 preseason when Kanoe Kamana'o came in as a freshmen, fresh off her libero experiences with the JNT, a team that had Ashley Nu'u (now w/ Colorado) as the setter. I thought Cayley would set that year.
StuffU (or was it somebody else?) revitalized the idea this weekend that the Wahine may need Kanoe to pass and Cayley to set. Besides, I don't think the Wahine have what it takes to win it all this year. With Kanoe at Libero, maybe they do. (I keep imagining this alternate universe where Cayley had been setting the past 4 years and Kanoe was the llbero. What would that look like? Would the Wahine have won a title? Only the toes knows...)
Prudent? Crazy? Convert an AA setter to libero?
Okay, I have to go to a picnic this afternoon, but when I'm back, I better see more "YES" votes than "NO" votes. And at least 20 total votes. I'm counting on you!

Two responses, two different ulterior motives. Wolgang is a Cayley fan or her father. Alberta wants the Wahine to lose

Actually I would not mind seeing a 6-2 offense with the front row setter setting, that way at least KK and CT can stabilize the passing, but then it does take out an offensive weapon it the front...just something to ponder I guess...

partially to give CT some setting time that is due, and also since KK and CT are decent passers and can help in the back row more than the other DS/L, unless JL can keep up her passing and continue to improve

it's only one game into the season... way too early to make this drastic of a move...

I'm picturing some sort of green million fan march against Shoji if this would ever happen. Scary.

You've got to be kidding me...... are you... seriously.
Kanoe is a 3-time AA! I'm not sure if I need to say much else.
It's a shame for Thurlby though. Such a shame. But I admire her heart and integrity.

No, I don't want the Wahine to lose (except to Florida). The Gators have a similar situation. Killingsworth has been switched to OH in order to field the best TEAM. She is an AA middle, but the team needs her in that OH position right now, until another OH is ready to take that spot.

So obviously, I'm not the only one who feels this way. I think, though, that the ones who voted "YES" were not Wahine fans.
