The UF media guide lists Hampton as Maurelle, but she goes by Marcie. She looks like she could be an island girl.

She was much more consistent than the bigger girl Houghtelling, who was opposite her. And she was a passer, too.
Dear Jamie Houston, please pass well.
Thanks, in advance.

Her sister is Nirelle, right? guess there's no nickname for that.

Her sister is Nirelle, right? guess there's no nickname for that. Right. Hampton is listed as having two sisters, Linda (coaches at TCU) and Nirelle (plays at TCU), and two brothers. I don't know about a nickname. From watching one match last weekend, I can say that Hampton displays the most passion on the court of anyone on the team. She is a fiery one.

So concerned about just Florida, when we should be looking at UCLA. What will we say when UCLA beats our bows to death? Are we going to hate them too? Hating is fun. One match at a time.... one match at a time.

It sounds like you watched, or maybe listened to the matches? We get live TV broadcast of the Montreux volley masters and the Grand Prix. Hampton was the only new girl that I really noticed. Kanoe too, of course. I was also excited about watching Kehoe play, but in the two or three matches I watched, she was used as a passer.

Cool. So it will be a reunion for Hampton and KK. It's always fun to play against others that have been your teammate.

I am going to get in trouble with my fellow Wahine fans, but I just remembered that Hampton was a very good blocker. She did not get a lot of straight-down blocks, but slowed a lot of balls for Nicole Davis and Sarah Drury (both EXCELLENT). I think that's what stood out a lot for me, her blocking.
I'm sure Kanoe has duly prepared herself and her team for somebody like Hampton. Might I also mention that Lang Ping subbed Kanoe in to set in as a front row player. How crazy was that?

Why will you get in trouble? Oh, fraternizing with the enemy. I'm really not the enemy. I'm even going to list myself as a Hawaii fan on the fan association thread. I'll go do that right now.

For singing Hampton's praises. Maybe she'll have a bad match tonight (it's Sept 1, 2pm here) and the Wahine will end up winning in four. With Kelly Ong as libero, of course. And Cayley and Caroline showing up on the court too.

Your buddies there can take it like you are just WARNING them. It's like a scouting report. You weren't really singing her praises.
Just tell Idaho that you were the one that stuck the pins in the voodoo dolls.

Dear Hawaii Fans, You guys are the greatest. I like your coach. Kanoe is awesome. I vote you: The Team I Wouldn't Mind Losing To (well, I would mind a little). I wish I were there right now. Gee, my nose is brown. you mean a yard long.
