Well, that's kinda lame since they don't pay for their own airline tickets to matches anyhow. It's to help compensate for their time in the air... it's nice for Hawaii because they usually end up with 1-2 free Hawaii trips out of it a year (or 3-4 Mainland trips). If they get those extra benefits to pay for their time in the air then don't use travel time / distance as an excuse at tourney time since they're being compensated for that time.

The airlines give out the mileage, not the schools. To say the airlines are boosters would be farfetched, wouldn't you say? The only alternative I can see is to have the teams traveling to Hawaii catch the train to the west coast, and from there get on a boat. The reverse for Hawaii.

All levels of government once recouped airfare costs by requiring traveling employees to turn in the mileage. This practice, as in the university level, has ceased. It's totally the discretion of the traveler to do whatever she/he pleases with the mileage.

Klineman must be a jinx. First Hawaii, now Texas. Teams have to stop inviting her to their home matches against other top teams.

I heard that Alix will commit to UH only if Kelly Ong is the libero and Caroline Blood is first off the bench.
