Well, USC deserved to be in that game against LSU, instead of the horribly overrated Oklahoma team. And if SoCal and LSU played instead and it just happened to be one of those games that one team just blows out the other even though they may actually be pretty close matches? We'd be complaining that SoCal or LSU had no business being in that game and Oklahoma got ripped off. You don't lose your conference championship game in a blowout and deserve to play for the national title. That's what OU did. USC-LSU could've been a blowout, but we'll never know. What we do know is the system sucked, it still does, and OU didn't belong. There's a reason the system was majorly tweaked after that season and continues to be tweaked. Same thing happened with Huskers a few years back. Blown out by Colorado, didn't even make the Big 12 title game, but still made it to the national title game ahead of CU and Oregon. Totally bogus.

Agreed, but until they do a playoff system using the current bowls for the top 4 or 8 teams, there will always be an argument.

i was hoping to hear something about the game, but it's all football talk. Did ASU choke tonight? They are having a good start of the season thanks to the new guy, but for the most part, they beat teams they should beat and lost to teams that were expected to lose. my question is, did they put up a fight? Score wise, no. but you never no.

We'd be complaining that SoCal or LSU had no business being in that game and Oklahoma got ripped off. Exactly. These teams agreed to let more than just opinion polls determine the matchup. Same for OSU in 2002. Nobody gave them half a chance, and they beat Miami. Seven points is not a whuppin', but Ken Dorsey did throw up on the bus afterward. ;D Well, USC deserved to be in that game against LSU, instead of the horribly overrated Oklahoma team. That's not the point---it's hindsight. One could say that Auburn could have given USC more of a game in 2004. Again, the NCAA has agreed to a BCS format to determine ONE champion. No, it isn't perfect, but it's better than before, and it determines one champion. Gosh, I only got 5 hours sleep, and I'm still giddy. Time to hit the Texas internet radio stations to see what's going on. My guess is the sun will still rise (like it did last year in Ohio).

Score wise, no. but you never no. Well, I didn't see the OSU-Houston match that went 5 games, but ASU was the best opponent who's played in Columbus, I'll guess. Danielle Fernandez didn't put up great #s, but she's a STUD. They're kind of big/slow on the court-- reminded me a lot of LBSU when they were in town last year. Ohio State is a far different team with a healthy McCarthy and two very aware freshmen starters. I don't often make predictions, but Penn State isn't taking any 30-9 games this year. And... The Bowl format does not determine ONE champion and never will. The BCS (Bowl Championship Series) decides the National Champion of college football, because that's how the powers that be SAY it's decided. Period. End of story.

Of course, the NCAA doesn't officially recognize a champion in Division 1-A football.
