Okay, now that tonight's match is in the record books, I think it's a great time to bring up this juicy subject. Obviously the whole point of this thread mainly has to do with Hawaii's upcoming WAC showdown with NMSU @ Las Cruces. Any thoughts? Some things to note: - Game in Las Cruces will be played in a smaller gym(how will it affect the Wahine- being used to a bigger court in the SSC). - Traveling. The Wahine are leaving tomorrow night(HST); arrive at LTU at 3PM for a 7 PM match. Then i'd imagine habing to catch a long flight to NMSU within the next 48 hours or so. How will it affect them physically? Amount of time to prep for NMSU? - NMSU match to be played on Friday the 13th(everybody better knock on wood) ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) . Of course we can't forget Hawaii's match with LTU. They must be pretty good at home because they were able to actually take a game off NMSU this past weekend.

fine ... i'll bite...
Wahine playing in a smaller gym should not be a problem... They survived in spartan gym without too much problems.
Traveling ... they recently did a road trip to Fresno and San Jose. The time difference between New Mexico and California is insignificant.
Friday the 13th...that is my favorite day of the year...Na Wahine should not have a problem with if they can continue to fix their passing issues.
LTU? who?

Question is, will Shoji bring Blood or just go with 11 players, just like last time.

Question is, will Shoji bring Blood or just go with 11 players, just like last time. Since they are taking the 'red-eye', and he will need everyone sharp for the entire trip...I think he HAS to go with 12. I think the 12th has to be an offensive player, therefore Blood must go. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Why would you think Friday the 13th is bad luck ONLY for the Wahine? Shouldn't it be bad luck for all? It's not selective in its victims.
It's like praying to God before a match. Why would God favor one team over another? Well, He (or She or It) isn't. If you believe in God, that is...

So Blood is going. I also hear Ong replaced one of the backrow players on the travel roster. Wishful thinking.

Well hmm... Friday the 13th.... that just might be the lucky night for NMSU on their home court. I have a feeling NMSU will end the long WAC streak on that day....

As I explained in an earlier thread. This cannot happen. I have found my lucky shirt for the Wahine. Every time I wear it they win. It is a superstitious truth happening on Friday the 13th. 'Nuff said. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Do any of you Hawaii fans know how many of your fans are heading to the game? You had a great group last year - we had a blast talking to them after the game.
It's going to be a tight fit in our home away from home. It only seats about 2800. Suffice to say we are all looking forward to it. As I said in another thread, playing this team is a welcome challenge. Our Coach was quoted in our paper today: "It's a challenge, and if you aren't excited about a challenge there is something wrong with you," Jordan said.

Just heard Scott Robbs on a short interview on the radio. The team hasn't arrived yet after flying all night. He said they will basically be sleepwalking through this match, but honestly La Tech isn't very good so it shouldn't matter. He also said it's hunting season in Louisiana and on the drive over he saw a lot of gun racks and confederate flags ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png)

From today's Honolulu Advertiser: "This is the travel itinerary: Left Honolulu at 7:25 p.m. last night; fly 6 hours and 40 minutes before arriving in Houston at 8:05 (Central time) this morning; after a two-hour layover, take a one-hour flight to Shreveport, La.; drive 1 hour and 15 minutes to their Ruston hotel. If all goes well, Hawai'i (12-4, 6-0) should arrive in Ruston five or six hours before match time." Also: "Shoji said he would have preferred to depart late Monday night or early yesterday morning, but the airlines couldn't accommodate the request." honoluluadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061011/SPORTS0203/610110342/1032Hopefully, they're there now or will get there shortly.
