My fear is this is another step towards decertification of Men's Volleyball at the varsity level. If the MPSF should lose another team or two......it could lead to making men's volleyball a club sport. Ouch! I am sorry about what has happened at Findlay. You are right about V-Ball being decertified to club level. It is that way at Cal-Berkely and could happen to USC.

Don't let them all off the hook yet. We just heard about this like 6 days ago?? I doubt anyone on the team knew about it more than a week ago. Saying it is final and $$ transferred is just a smoke screen to get everyone to shut up. If the vips realize that a suit could likely be coming along here, they will think again about reallocating $$.
Send a well written release to the local media, papers, radio, TV, USA Today, Volleyball Mag, SI, NCAA, any lawyers you know, (any player parents are lawyers?), email to any public forum on campus, USA vb, National Team Coach Hugh McCutcheon, all other Div. II men's vb head coaches, and NAIA, Div. 1, Div. III, etc. (there are only a few dozen you can get right off the NCAA website, any national media person who has written any articles on Title 9, local H.S. boy's coaches, HS coaches that the current team played under, University PR dept, .....make yourself available for phone calls, interviews.... name the school president, AD, vb coach. Quote them and then quote a rebuttal.
They SHOULD be annoyed.....sounds like they gave it one month of thought....started gathering info in early May?....like fun....it has been on the agenda/mind of AD and vb coach longer than that.... and NO one talked about raising MORE funds....what makes them think funds would dry up after 2 years....
quote that Ball State and GMU and CSUN all came out on the right side of this issue.

Also read the court case yesterday involving the wrestling title9 problem. They (the court) spelled out the direction to use. The mens money can't be given to a womens program without exposing THE UNIVERSITY to federal discrimination laws. Findlay is exposed to this severe legal issue because of their website stating the money trail. (kinda stupid on their part)

Guys, I am dissapointed that it sounds like you are giving up. You looking to transfer does nothing for the sport that you loved enough to become good enough to play at your level.
If you go without a fight, without at least trying some of what gobears suggested, than I am sorry for the state of men's volleyball.
There are club programs that exist almost entirely on donated money, see Arizona, Cal?, and Utah Valley State for examples, and they have been very successful for years! C'mon, you can do it, guys! FIGHT! Bring so much repercussion back that the coach and AD are forced to feel the repercussions instead of you!

"vb" and "gobears" I listed my email. I am very interested in continuing to fight and it seems that the two of you have some knowledge of the next step. I listed my email, I am very interested in getting in contact with you so I can find out more info. Again my email address is monroes@findlay.edu

Count me in as well, TitanVB7@hotmail.com. I am in the process of getting contact information for local media, and have already taken some steps in that direction in terms of making inital contact with them.

Wick Colchagoff has expressed his wanting to leave the Men's program, and no longer wants the job according to my source. We need to approach this as if he is no longer a part of the organization, and as if he had resigned as head coach of the Men's team. IMO, the figure that should be looked at as the current coach is Scott Monroe, who has made visible efforts thus far so fight this. He is also the logically next in line to receive the head coaching job, assuming the program were not cut (the former assistant recently took a head coaching job at another college in NW Ohio).

I have written a longish email to both of those above who requested it. If Scott is the next possible coach, then get him in on a planning session, asap.
In contacts with the President, who can mandate the AD to deal with this, just ignore the fact that the program has been cut. Talk and write that the issues involved both a from legal and public relations standpoint for Findlay are huge.

This message is for all of those people that sit there and critize about people not putting in work. YOU CAN KISS MY BLACK ASS!!! There is no way in hell that you can say there are not people putting in work. We have not givin up on the situation, but at the same time we are not stupid, if you came to findlay you would understand the situation a little better. Also, if you were smart you would realize that you always leave a way out just incase things don't work out. But, maybe instead of sitting there telling us what all we are doing wrong and waiting for us to as for help, you could offer your services. Otherwise shut the hell up because we don't care what you have to say.
To everyone else I appreciate the wealth of knowledge that you have graced us with and I along with others are tying to break it all down to things that we can use. I am currently a Law student (and should be going to Law school next year but whatever) and with this new information I am going to call some of my legal friends and see if we can sort fact from fiction. If you know the case number our the anything of that sort that would be sweet. Or if you know where I could read about the case you can email me that as well and any other information that you might have. My email is oliverc@findlay.edu.
I apologize if I started out rude, but some people don't realize there is a time and place for such comments. Once again thank you for you help and I hope you continue to do more.

Heinrich, it sounds like Wick was involved (to some degree, accounts vary) with the program being cut. So, that's why you haven't heard anything from him. If you go to the thread, "Another men's program bites the dust", you can see some of the reports and articles. This should help you see why Wick hasn't sent you an e-mail.

Got that loud and clear from the start. He should be tried for treason. Or formerly changing his "W" to a "D" at least.

Mr. Schliemann, I meant in no way to offend anybody, I was just trying to let people know that our situation is unique. We don't have people in high places willing to assist us on our campus. This is just athletes versus "the man" so to speak. We appreciate any help from those that have been in a similar situation in ideas for coming up with a way to stim this slaughter of our beloved program. Currently, we are working on the Title IX issues that have been brought to our attention from many helpful people on here.
Furthermore, we offered to fundraise a lot of money, similar to that of which BSU is trying to raise and yet we get all of our offers thrown back into are face by an administration hiding by the guise of wanting to improve our GLIAC sports. What they fail to realize is our Men's Tennis team has yet to win over 6 matches in the 4 plus years that I have been hear. But, wait they don't even see any of the money anyways. But, that is just one of my complaints with the system...Thank you everyone for your continued assistance and hopefully this all can be concluded on a good note.

Keep the pressure on them. Meanwhile, post some email addresses and the themes we can help with. Over 1,100 people have read this thread so far...we are here to help. (most of us have several email addresses) Of course they will initially say no. Come-on! Have you been in contact with the BSU coordinators yet? Go ahead a schedule a fundraiser...how they going to counter that? You ever see a University give money back? With privacy concerns it is hard to get student email addresses but it can be done---email them to support. Remember....they purposely waited till school was out to pull this stunt--knowing that student support will be away from campus. It is hard work. But you have an advantage over BSU...you have their blueprint
