I know everbody has been questioning her eligibility and the success of USC because of her.. Rubio complained that the reason that his team lost is because of Kaczor, well I didnt see it that way. first and foremost if you have seen her play the only thing iam really impress about her is her hitting and even that she does not really hit hard, she just has a lot of shots, her digging is horrible and her blocking is average, she does not even pass. so i dunno where Rubio got that assumption. yeah they set her a lot.. but so does Coppenhagen. and Coppenhagen and Gysin hits harden that Kaczor. the only reason she gets her kills is because she is tall other than that she is an ok player. Secondly, and the main reason why u$C is winning is because they have three reliable outside hitters they can go to, when one is off the other OH takes the load. Look at the stats of all there matches and you can see that they take turns leading the team, and not only that no one has ever mentioned that Seilhammer is probably there best player. She is really the backbone of this team. She can frustrate any big hitter by her defense.

Let all the opposing teams concentrate on Kaczor and thereby opening the net for Gysin and Copenhagen! One thing though is that when the team is in a funk, they'll still go repeatedly to Kaczor. She'll get blocked twice back-to-back, and you can bet that the third ball is likely to go to her as well, and then she'll put down the ball. One good thing I've noticed about her is that she doesn't get shaken when blocked -- she's mentally consistent and focused. What I would like to see though is having her hit more from the right. Often she lines up to hit from the left, which makes it a predictable offense since there is no hitter at the rightside antenna.

I have no problem with Rubio taking issue with Kaczor, however he shouldn't blame her for the loss, they got thumped by a bunch of teams who didn't have pro's.

Let Rubio complain to the NCAA....otherwise it is sour grapes. He just had the balls to do what the other PAC-10 coaches, with the possible exceptions of those at Cal and Wash, won't say.....

As much as I kind of wish Rubio hadn't said what he did publicly, after re-reading his comments I don't think he was entirely blaming the loss on Kazcor. No matter the validity of the opinion, right after a match it sounds like sour grapes born out of frustration. They did go to her alot on crucial points and she did take alot of the big swings but Rubio knows that his youngsters have to go through the growing pains and they no longer have the go to players that they did the past 4 years. His remarks to the press all year long have been consistent with that message. His kids are making progress and they will figure it out before too long.
Personally ... I don't like the increasing numbers of top programs ( mostly in the Pac 10) bringing in the suspect " amateurs " from abroad. I wouldn't like it if Rubio did it here as I simply think there are enough quality American kids to be developed and alot of our tax dollars go to support these schools. What is the message to say, Kelli Tenant who, after a good freshman year is now sitting the bench behind an imported player. I would think she'd be pissed and her family would be too. Any U$C fans have any input on that ?

Any U$C fans have any input on that ? Volleyball is not unique in having foreign players. Other collegiate sports have a higher number of foreign athletes. Look at the collegiate tennis scene, both men and women. Many of the top players, even on top teams, are foreign tennis players. Even several teams, like Pepperdine and UCLA men team, are 1/2 to 3/4 filled by foreign players. If your point is that because a lot of tax dollars go to support the colleges, then should your point be applied to foreign students as well? Should we say no to them since they are taking some spaces away from American kids who got denied entry?

Grandmasevic... How many 30 year olds do you see on an intercollegiate volleyball team? Whatever respect I had for McLaughlin went out the door the minute he petioned the NCAA for another year of eligiblity for grandmasevic....Jim's no better than Haley! Winning is obviously more important to these men than sportsmanship and fair play.

Sanja NEVER played professionally(well in PR *after* UW) and she was done playing at the college level when she was 25 years old, not 30. In fact, she BARELY turned 21 when she enrolled at Washington. I think that was one of the reasons she was granted her 4th year, because she just barely missed the "clock".
She played on her JNT, and a couple different youth clubs in her country that has no professional leagues, all the while dodging bombs and bullets in their civil war.
