Set 3 very close. Both teams trading kills from their stars. Thumm and Grun for Germany, Flier and Blom (the short one) for the Netherlands. Netherlands up 8-7.

One of the things I love about international ball is how much they stick to the power game. None of this crap you see in the NCAA where if you're down by more than two points the coaches get out the leash and make their girls do a little safety float serve that only makes it EASIER for the other team to run their offense. Even when they've dug themselves into a hole these young ladies keep hammering those serves.

Netherlands completely taking control of this game now. The german setter has been subbed again. Germany down 9-16 coming out of the TO.

I love Dumler's jump-float. It's high velocity and very effective at catching the passers mid chest.

Sure wish I could stay up for the USA-China match, but it's getting closer to 11pm and sleep time for yours truly.

Germany is really getting hosed on some of these calls on crucial plays. I wonder if that ref with the dark hair and almond shaped eyes is Joan Powell in disguise? ;D

What a massive comeback by the Netherlands in the 5th. #4 from the Dutch side is a beast, she's like a right-handed Sarah Pavan, only a **** tonne more explosive - CANNON of an arm. She was crushing sets that were off the net. The lovely #12 on the Netherlands side was fantastic early on, but nearly single-handedly lost the match for them late 4th/early 5th. She looks really young though, probably was really nervous. The short #8 Leftside has massive vertical and a whip of an arm, reminds me of Russia's Serguey Tetyukhin on the Men's team.
Thumm was great this match too, she carried the Germans in the 4th to force a 5th. Angelina Grun wasn't her usual dominant self, even though she played well. She seems to have more trouble against taller blocks (but who doesn't).
Incredible match WOW.

Holland takes set 2, 25-21. Germany looking real sloppy compared to how they played against China. Lots of errors. Their setters don't seem to be connecting very well. what is url to see the video?
