being from the midwest, i have noticed a lot of people have chosen loyola to lose a game or two to clarke. clarke is 0-15 in the MIVA, and one person chose clarke in 5. is this because of the lack of respect for loyola or is it because they all think clarke is due?......Just wondering.

Great question! At this time of year it helps to know the coaching patterns. Penn State and Lewis, for example...will "rest the starters" if they can---causing games to go maybe alittle longer. Lewis is probably the most famous for this. (Was Dave a club coach?) As far as Loyola...there is getting to be a track record for close observers to note. The MIVA is interesting because of the close race to get home court....some teams like OSU have to keep the legs fresh if they can. Probably the best indicator is the practices and coaching background. If practices have cut back and coaching has intelligence or club background you will see it on the court in freshman, and role-players getting more PT. I am not smart enough to comment about the MPSF...they go thru this every year. It is too difficult to predict unless you are right on top of it.
