The USC women's volleyball team signed four high school standouts to letters of intent for 2007.
Zoe Garrett, a 6-foot-3 middle blocker at Laguna Beach High School, played with the U.S. national team in September as well as the U.S. junior national team. Garrett's club team finished second this year in the 18 Open Division at the Junior Olympics in Atlanta.
Six-foot-2 outside hitter Kimmee Roleder of Pasadena High School earned first-team all-league selections twice in her high school career and was named the most valuable player at the 2006 Gladstone and Gabrielino tournaments.
Greena Urango, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter/libero at Los Alamitos High School, won two California Interscholastic Federation championships at Los Alamitos and received All-CIF tournament and All-CIF first-team honors.
Lauren Williams, a 6-foot-4 middle blocker at Stratford High School (Houston, Texas), was a member of the 2004 and 2005 U.S. youth national teams.

Those are some tall ladies. Looks like USC is going to have their height advantages back.

yeah but I am not sure Williams is ready for college level volleyball yet. Her blocking is good but her hitting is pretty weak

Williams offense is weak and I hear your work ethic is practice is marginal. Garrett and Urango are studs though- congrats to Mick and his staff!

Urango can't play front row so will only see the back row....not sure that she is the best local recruit for the position of Libero.....I prefer the LBS recruit Ashley Lee for that position, a triple AAA rated beach player who is extremely athletic and very skilled......

WE have signed three.....press release will probably be out by tomorrow! They were the three that Brian wanted although we offered to two others but they declined because they wanted to play front row and not back row only! Can you say undersized? Those are some tall ladies. Looks like USC is going to have their height advantages back. I wouldn't consider 6'3 a height advantage in elite volleyball anymore. Against some of your lower ranked opponents yes, but that's partly why they're lower ranked, yes?
