I don't see them matching up NU and UF 2 years in a row. I didn't think so earlier in the season, but I just can't see Nebraska getting sent to Texas since they are both in Big 12 and will have played twice this season, including the last game of the regular season. If they do a true "snake", Florida or Texas could be in that #8/9 overall spot, and something has to give. Think most of us would agree that the Husker aren't goint to Seattle. And, there's no reason to send the #1 overall seed (my assumption) all the way to Honolulu when the rules clearly state that the #1 team needs to be placed in their closest region. This happened 2 years ago in women's basketball; #1 seed LSU was placed in the Chattanooga, TN regional, and #2 seed Tennessee was sent to Philadelphia regional, attendance be damned. I assume it works same way in volleyball, but maybe not.

They've placed 2 Pac-10 teams to meet in the regional final before, no reason to think they won't do the same with 2 Big 12 teams. If they are the #1 seed, Austin is the closest to them. Unless they drop another match, they'll be the #1 seed and I think they're going to Austin.

Honestly, I'd rather see #1 Nebraska sent to Austin with the obstacle of trying to beat Texas for a third time (assuming both would take care of business in getting to Regional final), and trying to get back to their home state for the Final Four. I really don't want to see USC or Stanford as a #1 seed in Austin. If Nebraska does get sent to Austin, I doubt USC or Stanford would be a #2 seed (overal #8) opposite Nebraska in our regional. More than likely, I see either Penn State, USC, or Stanford coming to Austin as a #1 seed.

Beachman has a point. I doubt that Nebraska is in a regional with any of the top 5 Pac-10 teams. Maybe the 5th or 6th team, which would be Cal and perhaps Oregon,,,,,but not Stanford, U$C, UCLA, or Washington.....just don't see them taking that risk.....Those 4 teams will be sent, two to Seattle(one being UDub) and two to Honolulu, I predict U$C and Stanford.....UCLA to Udub! Could make for some fascinating volleyball.....You are also going to have San Diego, Santa Clara, Cal Poly, LBS, Sac. State, St. Mary's, and Pepperdine in this mix as well...Some damned tough competition...... Substitute San Francisco for Saint Mary's if, as expected, USF beats Portland and Gonzaga this week. No matter what Saint Mary's does, they will be ineligible due to an overall record of more losses than wins. Also California is in there for sure, and possibly Oregon.

Ugh... publius. You just put a horrible thought in my head.
If Hawaii gets stuck with Oregon in rounds 1 or 2... well, that's just a bad thought. Either at Oregon or at Hawaii.

The Womens Volleyball Commitee has screwed Hawai'i over before so there is no reason to think those dumbases won't do it again. But this year with the Regionals at the SSC, we fans can screw the NCAA back by not attending the regionals if Hawai'i is gven a bad draw and doesn't make it back home. St John's, BYU, and Alabama will all get a favorable draw in the tourney, you people heard it here first.
The time for screwing Hawai'i is over Kelly Andrews, do the right thing.

BiK... I thought of picketing the SSC if Hawaii is shafted, but then I thought, well, the University has to cover any discrepancy in contract. I'm guessing that the bids include a 'guarantee' of how much money the NCAA would make by hosting there.
Is this true?

Possibly but I'd still toss my tickets (already paid for) and encourage my friends not to go in protest. The Committee hasn't been kind to the Wahine over the years. Pullman in 01, Lincoln in 02, Fort Collins in 04, Austin in, and worse State College in 05. Marilyn needs to step up and lobby for her program because no other team in the Country has been shafted as often as Hawai'i has in the past couple of NCAA tourneys.

Does anyone think a sub-regional might be in KY?

GatorVball and southie are in full dire wish mode. Texas WILL NOT BE A 3RD SEED even if they loose at Nebraska!!! Get that thru your skulls! Florida will be the weakest of the 2nd seeds SHOULD they get a second seed. Florida does not have a win against a top 10 team, has a weaker RPI and schedule. Florida may have to see PSU or a Pac 10 team as a second seed then Nebraska as the overall #1 seed. Any of the #1 seeds would rather travel to Hawaii or Florida before Austin.
