He was on the topic, if you couldn't figure it out, Beibei was saying why do you hate on UCLA because of they have "too much talent" while Minnesota also has talent but you don't hate on them.
Thanks
I just do not understand why he always hammer UCLA even when they only have 3 losses and when they won 5 games matches.
I do not "hammer" on UCLA. I have repeatedly said they are a top 10 team (I currently rank them #5. If you want to choose to interpret what I've said differently, more power to you.
Using the excuse that 20 players on the roster is lame, it is a public institution and UCLA is a school that receives the most number of application every year, many players would want to go there even if they have to walk on.
Nor did I say that. What I did say was that perhaps they have too much talent for the players to develop. I don't know. I certainly never threw it out there as a fact. Nor did I ever say they have more talent than Minnesota -- that was something you chose to bring into the discussion.
so what if a school has 30 players on the roster, only 6 can be on the court.
Yes. But if the coach is constantly pulling one player for another... Again, I have no idea if this is the case at UCLA.
I quote Minnesota because I did not think it occurred to him that Minnsota had done a better job at recruiting over the past few years and they have more top 15/20/50 recruits than UCLA. UCLA still gets good players but not the top recruits they got a decade ago.
But I don't see your point. Minnesota is not underachieving. They've, arguably, been better than UCLA in the last 5 years, at least.
We can use Minnesota for an example if you'd like. In spite of all that, in spite of those recruits, where were the two teams ranked headed into the season:
UCLA #10
Minnesota #22
This is the typical hype that UCLA gets -- and it's why they are #4 today.
Again, I do not hate this team. But I do think they are over-rated. And I don't mean just the AVCA ranking. I mean the program as a whole.
