Yeah, I think Tom and Ross combination would very good tandem in just a few seasons together (provided Tom concentrate on beach vball during off-season). I think they would match up well against May and Walsh -- in terms of all around skills and competitiveness.

In terms of qualifying for the 2008 Olympics, are points becoming an issue yet? I'm not a big follower of Beach vball, but I remember back in 2000 when there was a concern of whether Misty May would qualify because she was somewhat new (and also struggling w/ getting enough matches due to injury). And how many teams go to the Olympics? Two or three?

BRoss are schooling Wacholder/Turner; taking game 1: 21-9 and leading 3-2 in game 2.

Epic game 2 between BRoss and Wacholder/Turner: 25 a piece now.

BRoss moves on, winning game 2: 26-24 and playing Young/Branagh next with the winner moving into the semis.
This is odd. First game tracker shows game 2 tied at 25. Then BRoss with 26-24. So, match must be over right? Now it is showing game 3 tied at 9.

The period set by FIVB for Qualification tournaments is from Jan. 1, 2007 to July 20, 2008, with the teams free to choose the tournies they want to play. And from all of the qualification tournies played, points accumulated from their eight best performances as a team will be taken into account to determine their position in the FIVB beach volleyball Olympic ranking and see who will go to the Olympics. The maximum number is 2 teams per country.

Ross is playing great, going by the stats:
18 service aces in 10 games (1.8 pg) to lead the aces category).
3.6 digs per game.
.485 % kills (#5)
5 blocks (.5 bpg) -- Boss is having a poor blocking day.

Ross is playing great, going by the stats: 18 service aces in 10 games (1.8 pg) to lead the aces category). Is Ross still using her jump serve from college? I remember seeing her serve and it was one of the many factors that I thought made her game perfect for the beach. It's not a "power" jump serve like you saw Willoughby or Cruz using, but it was a solid serve with some great spin that had a mean drop to it.

She's hitting her marks with her serves. Through day 1 at HB, with 12 games, she has 22 aces for 1.83 average per game.
