She's 6'3"? Either the camera angle is funky or she's not getting very high. Looks like she's only around 9 feet, which is kinda subpar for a D1 collegiate middle.

Well, funky camera angle or not, her head's not even above the tape and she's contacting at second red of the antenna. Do the math, that most certainly ain't 10'1".

True, but in my experience, your contact point is lower using the step out which is what both photos seems to be showing. She might be able to touch 10'1 but these photos definitely don't show that. The first photo shows that she is under the ball or jumped too soon. And you can't tell the context of the situation just by looking at the photo. You can make hundreds of assessments and they could all be wrong. You could say that she has to be fast because she is beating the blockers and look how much line she has in each shot. Or you could say that she might not have a line shot and only has a cross court shot so the blockers are loading up on her cross court. So, we will all just have to wait and see. Chances are that if everyone is healthy, she won't even be playing in 2007 since Hawaii has 2 senior middles and more experienced players waiting on the bench to play at the middle position.

Have seen her play several times and one.....she is not 6'3". If she is 6'3" I'm the same height, which I'm not. She may touch ten feet, but based on what I have seen she is does not have that explosive jump.....but let me tell you she is very mobile and that is waht you want from your MB. Last but not least on the on step take off (slide attack) you do get the best out of your jump. What do you think the high jumpers use? ESTRELLA

Girls got a lot of meat on her. Reminds me of that Salaia Salavea girl - very athletic - Powerful MB - Nice athletic body. Played for the WolfPack back in 2004/2005. Her timing was impeccable. They took us to five games both times. Simmons and Houston will be the double trouble sisters. Sanders and Gregory will be the Twin Towers, Hittle/Ferrell/Cubi-Ontineru will be the Triple Threat and Lee/Kaai'hue will be the like the Chun Li's from Street Fighter......Amanda's photos look great. The other teams blockers don't even look like their in the right position. Looks like one of them is blocking the ref. She obviously sees the block. Thats a positive. She has a force to recogn with on the court which throws off the other team. Positive again. If they say she touched ten feet she touched ten feet. Then again, why do we always have to ask the questions - how tall is so and so again......LOL!.....They never get the girls heights right.

Amanda's actually 6'2" tall, she has the fight of a lion and the personality of an achiever. I can tell you she will listen, learn and make sacrifice's for the team. I can give you a laundry list of her achievement's but she wouldn't want me to draw attention to her but rather the team. She's so excited to join the Hawaii family in August. By the way, she's only played volleyball for 3 years, she has a lot of upside and growth.

I thought that it will only happen to my ears and nose. Yes.....the kid is a good prospect that should help Hawaii! ESTRELLA

Since there are so namy arguments about her height and approach, here is her profile from Fusion VBC website www.clubfusionvb.org/teams/profile.asp?UserID=491If we have in mind these profiles always benefit players a couple of inches .....On the other hand she must have quite short arms - 7'8" standing reach is more common for height 6'0"-6'1"

Her hair makes her 6'3". Otherwise, she's 6'1" on a good day. Then again, I talked to another club girl (nameless) from a big club this past weekend. She was yackin about how she now touches 10'1"... I simply inquired, "Oh, so you can touch the basketball rim, eh?" Her response, "No, I'm not quite there yet, but I'm working towards it." GOOD HEAVENS.
