Im also very interested in Becky Perry. Everything Ive seen in spring training makes me think she will have a break out year and surprise everyone in the Pac 10. You think she can beat out Collymore or Mussie for the starting spot? Collymore was very impressive when she was subbed in. Last year, Morrison was solid and consistent, but Mussie (and yes, Sandell) struggled in some matches. Collymore came in for both of them at times -- but didn't play in the back row except for serving, and she never earned a starting spot. Yes, there's room for a quality red-shirt freshman to earn a spot at OH or Opp. The Husky I want to watch next year though is Jenna Hagglund, the new setter. At the USA Open there were 5 NCAA starting setters between UCLA and the two USA teams, and it was Hagglund who got a spot on the second all-tournament team (behind Spicer, of course). So I want to see this girl play.

My favorite player to watch will also probably be the comeback POY - Houghtelling As far as the setters at the USA Open....you have to remember that the USA program splits time equally among the girls so no one setter that was on the Red or Blue team saw the court 100% of the time as did Spicer and Hagglund. Not taking a much deserved kudos away from either one but PAC 10 play in the fall will provide a much different challenge....

My favorite player was Tara Hittle; that is, until I saw her bad dancing and gangsta attitude on YouTube. Now, the "favorite player" slot is wide open.

If this year, Houston can perform like she did against USC, she will be a lot of fun to watch.
Outside Hawaii, I'm looking forward to seeing how the young and talented teams of Texas and Penn State do.

Best teams with great players all together are by far Texas, Stanford and Nebraska. I can't wait to watch those teams because they will have multiple players that will be a joy to watch. Exciting at least. especially Texas. Not saying they will be in the finals, but some talent and freaks of nature. In a good way.

I would say my two favorite non-Badgers to watch are Nellie Spicer and Angie Pressey. I like that Nellie will try to make the high risk set and is good enough to make it work a lot. It might drive me nuts if she were running my favorite team, but it makes things interesting. Pressey is fun to watch because she is so dynamic as a hitter.
