I am ready to predict the Gophers lineup for the season-opener at Notre Dame:
Roysland/Roehrig Jones/Tan Hagerty/Cowles Dieter Gibbemeyer Hartmann
Tan will come in for the middles. When Vatterrodt is healthy, she will shake things up and start at opposite. So this is Rachelle's big opportunity to show her stuff.
Kelly Schmidt will play a role, too.

Way to go out on a limb Ruffda! The Irish are hurtin, have key injuries. I do however love the little setter from the Burgh!

It'll be fun to see how Jesse Jones performs this year. She gave NU fits in the Regional final. I've respected her game ever since she was a freshman and came in late in the season/NCAA to really help the Gophers.

ND is streaming video, but it looks like you gotta pay for it.

Any insights to Notre Dame and who will start for them? ND has the combined weekend press release/season preview up at und.cstv.com, but I don't see any significant hints about the lineup. I'm wondering who we'll be using at libero this year.

The Irish are hurtin, have key injuries. Who's injured? (I imagine I'll be able to take some guesses based on who does or doesn't play...) Speaking of injuries, whatever happened to Ellen Heintzman? She never played last year (was on the roster and at matches on the bench) and is off the roster this year.

The Goofs will crush ND in this match. ND is young and inexperienced. The only thing that keeps the winning margin down is Herbert using his 2nd stringers.

Hebert.
Wasn't ND young and inexperienced last year? Seems like they should be older and more experienced.
Where is South Bend anyhow?

Isn't it in Indiana?

Anybody who looks at my location knows that South Bend is in Indiana. More specifically, it's pretty much dead in the center of the northern border of Indiana. I'm less than ten miles from Michigan. We're about 100 miles from Chicago, with the trip taking anywhere from 1:45 to 2:30 depending on traffic and mode of transportation. ND is still somewhat young and inexperienced, but much less so than last year as the froshes who got a lot of time are now sophs.

I always figured Notre Dame would be huge in 08 and 09. They'll be packed with juniors and seniors. And yes, what happened to Ellen Heintzman?!

Anybody who looks at my location knows that South Bend is in Indiana. Are you going to be at the match? I'll be there, wearing the Gopher hat with ears, and wearing a Golddiggers polo shirt (why a polo shirt for volleyball, I wonder?) Flying into Chicago at 2PM, and thence down and around to South Bend (okay... I'll stop by the hotel to drop things off, if I'm not running late). If it weren't for the lousy time-shift when I get into St Joseph county, I'd have plenty of time.
