I think that Jessica Vander Kooi was the victim of the "what comes around goes around" thing from the Noll situation. That woman should've been an All American last year. This year is just cruel. Wow, just three years ago people considered Mizzou a threat for a final Four spot. Now...yikes. Hope to see them recover soon.

let's not forget that MU team lasy year took stanford to 5 games in the NCAA's 2nd round on Stanford's home floor, and what did stanford do, finished runner up to NU for the national title, that team wasn't jinxed or had any victims at all, but you are right, she should have been atleast prob 2nd team AA

Looking at their roster and who they have coming I think they are along way from getting back to the top 3-4 in the Big 12. Yes the Kline injury is a big loss this year but they simply have not brought in Top 20 talent recently. They have a good setter coming in but not much atheticism with the hitters to help her.

You're assuming that the best high schools in MO go to the Mizzou team camp, and I'm not sure that is the case.
I would think that Mizzou would have loved to have Johanna Bangert (starting as a freshman MB at Illinois, hitting .383 at last check) or Michelle Jantsch (playing for at Ohio, as a S). out of the class of 2007.

The Kreklows have been mining the Nebraska connection the last few years with the Wilsons and Hunter. And of course the Chinese connection.
I am sure they went after Bangert hard, as well as some of the other kids on that Team Missouri/Kirkwood/Show-Me team, but either the Missouri kids didn't want to go there or they weren't interested. Erin Birmingham went to Georgia Tech, Waller went to Stanford.
Anne Kordes at SLU has had great success with the St. Louis kids. I am sure Sammi McCloud could have helped Mizzou this year.

Creighton has closed the door on the Nebraska connection for Mizzou, KSU and KU. The better Nebraska kids that aren't going to Nebraska are opting to give CU a chance.

not so sure Crieghton has slammed the door, MU did get Katie Wilson last year, Ailes went to Stanford with MU and NU the next choices, crieghton not really an option.....but to Creightons credit, they are turning that program around it seems, and good for them.....a couple more seasons like the one they are currently putting together (considering they keep it up) and they maybe giving Mizzou and KSU a run, I think they are prob already a better program then KU
