Wow Wow Wow!! We got there late so only saw the end of game 2 & the rest. The people we sit near told us about game 1, glad we missed it.
This was vintage UOP stuff. Great crowd, great Volleyball, great fun.
#8 Hilbers, for UOP was my favorite tonight.
What is with the San Luis coaches hair? My husband said he must have lost a bet or something. You think he would wait till the end of the season to go out in public like that.
Great win Tigers!!!

For Pacific, Hilberg on slides from the middle and Anderson from the right scored timely side out after side out, and Svenja Englehurdt was able to score enough from the left to keep Cal Poly blockers semi honest. The final block count was about 17 to 5 in favor of cal Poly, and it was clear that Poly was getting more blockers in better position consistently. I think Cal Poly was hurt a little by Waller not having a great night, only hitting .135 with nine kills and 4 errors, and the two freshman, or I think they are, Olowolafe and Rivera, both had overall good nights but got tentative at big points in the match. And Pacific started digging a lot of balls the last two games. I remember seeing Waller last year and she was dominant; not tonight and I'm not sure how much this year. Atherstone is spectacular; had 22 kills and it seemed like more than that, easily. Frankly, as an observer without a real rooting interest I thought Cal Poly was a little smoother and more organized on defense, but it did not convert to points, at least after the first game, which Cal Poly won very easily. Real difference was Pacific defense, as stated above. And Pacific's ability to side out and stay ahead the last two games bodes well for Pacific playing other good teams, as Cal Poly did look sound and did not really self-destruct.

Most definitely, they will drop out of the top 25. I don't know what to make of this Cal Poly team, when they're good...they're really good, and when they're not....they're not.

Charlie is having a better season this year. I hope Pacific returns to its national prominence status.

The team is definitely improved, and playing hard that is all we really ask.
Great job, we love the effort.
