During the VP debate Cheney claimed had never actually met Edwards before the debate: blog.johnkerry.com/blog/archives/Cheney-Edwards.jpg[/img] On 2/1/2001 Cheney addressed the National Prayer Breakast saying: "Thank you. Thank you very much. Congressman Watts, Senator Edwards, friends from across America and distinguished visitors to our country from all over the world, Lynne and I honored to be with you all this morning." In addition: Senator Edwards Escorted Elizabeth Dole When She Was Sworn In As North Carolina's Other Senator. Elizabeth Dole was sworn in as North Carolina's other senator on January 8, 2003. Gannet News Service wrote: "As per Senate tradition, Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., escorted her." Dole Took The Senate Oath Administered By Vice President Dick Cheney.

Cheney also mentioned FactCheck.Org (actually called it FactCheck.Com) which the "liberals" ought to thank him for doing. www.factcheck.orgOf the six reports on the main page: There are 4 that refute Bush / Cheney ads / claims. There is 1 that refutes Cheney / Edwards ads / claims. There is 1 that refutes mistatements made by both GWB and Kerry during the first presidential debate. A high percentage of the claims made by Cheney during the debate are refuted in reports on that site. The only obvious thing that the site refutes in relation to Edwards claims is his (and Kerry's) continued claim that $200 billion have been spent on the war in Iraq. Rather than being honest and stating that $120 billion has actually been spent but ~$200 billion has been requested / allocated including the funding for the current fiscal year.

I'm listening to NPR right now and they talked more about Edwards' erroneous statements than Cheney's erroneous statements. NPR!

I'm listening to NPR right now and they talked more about Edwards' erroneous statements than Cheney's erroneous statements. NPR! Which erroneous statements are they referring to for Edwards? Cheney's lies and mistatements form the debate would take to long to discuss since that's pretty much all he did throughout the entire debate. I though the facilitator did a very poor job of keeping both VP candidates on topic and on time. She did ask some interesting questions. Though that didn't appear to matter to either Cheney or Edwards since they often enough decided to banter about whatever came to mind rather than the topic at hand. Cheny make some nice faces during the debate akin to GWB's during the first presidential debate. Though not as many.

Cheny is as smart as a fox. He currently receives 176,000 dollars a year from his former company Halibarton which has major contracts from the Defense Dept. All this cash is being deposited into his blind trust which he can not touch until out of office.

I would just like to point out that they are not mutually exclusive.

Not ignorant, he just has trouble keeping all of the variantions on his lies straight as he gets caught changing them again and again.
He reminds me of the liar dude on SNL.
"Yeah, we invaded Iraq because they were abusing the oil for food policies! That's the ticket!"
