Kerry is indeed furhter behind than ever in the electorate vote counts.
That said numerous of the states for which he is currently credited with their electoral votes based on the state polls show him leading by only %1 - %3 percent which is less than the margin of error for the polls.
Meaning Bush's lead could still vanish as quickly as it jumped in his favor sometime last week.
We'll see what happens.
The debates ought to be interesting.

www.electoral-vote.com/A snippet from the verbiage under the graph on that page. "Of the 16 battleground states, Zogby has Kerry ahead in 11 and Bush ahead in 5. Since I round the numbers to integers, my result is 9 states for Kerry, 5 states for Bush, with Florida, and Arkansas tied, even though Kerry is fractionally ahead in both. The net effect is that Kerry has closed the gap in the electoral college from a Bush lead of 116 yesterday to only 17 today, a net gain of 99 votes in the electoral college. How did this happen? Kerry picked up Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin for a net gain of 76 electoral votes, Bush lost 33 in Arkansas and Florida, and Kerry lost 10 in Maryland. The other states polled didn't switch candidates. But as usual, note that states with a white core on the map are essentially tossups, no matter what color the border is." If he had chosen not to round to integers Kerry would have an additional 33 electoral votes (Florida and Arkansas) for a lead over Bush and enough votes to win the election. A swing in votes of 132 overnight. The back and forth trend between Kerry and Bush is likely to keep changing to a while yet.

i heard the only reason why both bush and kerry are going to take part in the debates is cos' bush was told it was actually going to be a drinking contest and kerry was told it was going to be a pretzel eating contest. any truth to this rumor? nader wanted to take part in the debate but bush found out nader truly digs cat stevens.

[/img]
Typical "conservatives", keying their own cars then claiming those evil "liberals" probably did it. Probably the same "conservatives" that have stolen Kerry signs from people's yards.

That has got to be the most Nazi-like logo I've ever seen, without actually being a swastika.
Criminee. It gives me the willies.

www.electoral-vote.com/Kerry has taken a 41 lead in the electorate count after being behind for most of the past few weeks. Bush still handily leads on the "projected final map" at this point.
