A bigger question is whether Stern is a cause or a symptom. Personally, I don't think he contributes at all to the "moral decay." He just reflects the changes in attitudes of the people. It seems there are three types of people. One blames the media for the moral decay. The other blames the moral decay for the result of a poisoned media. I am the third. I think the poisoned media is just a reflection of a similar decay in society. You can't fix one until you fix the other. I think it would make more sense to look at society before you try to fix the problems in the media. Don't try to use the media as an excuse.

I agree Richee. I am just tired of people blaming the media and things that they CAN control their family being exposed to for the problems in their children. The fact is good parents who stay at home with their children will be able to teach sound values and control what influences their children. I grew up with parents who closely monitored what influenced me, yet weren't overbearing. We had set TV hours, and really didn't watch TV when they weren't around. They never allowed us to have video game systems (something I am eternally grateful for, and I will pass on to my children) and we turned out fine. My mom stayed home with us, and worked when we started elementary school, and didn't really get a full time job until we were almost out of high school.
The fact is, if you actually are a parent, you can produce good children. That means making sacrifices like not both working so you can be there for them.
I envision a perfect world someday where all parents will take responsibility for what they do, and not blame everyone but themselves for what happens in society.
Ironically, as lude as South Park the Movie was, it's examination of American culture was dead on.
