Remember the 1994 Northridge earthquake? The area was blacked out for some (or most?) of the night. When residents looked up in the night sky, they freaked out because they observed a cloudy milky white gaseous substance hovering over them. Many calls to 911 were made. Even 91 folks were confused. What cloudy white substance? They scratched their heads. Then, some astronomy buff at 911 figured it out. The bozo residents saw, for the first time in their lives, the Milky Way that stretched across the northern hemisphere. The Northridge area, and most of Southern California, was so illuminated by the city and other artificial lights that people never saw the night sky clearly. Until the 1994 earthquake.
The Milky Way! The Milky Way!
And they had to call 911 Emergency??
Bozos...

Actually, I didn't even look at the sky. Once the ground stopped shaking, my old man and I went around the house checking for gas leaks and such, and when we were finished got a few more hours of sleep. Matter of fact, we didn't have a power outage. Perhaps you should narrow your sweeping generalization down to Northridge residents.

I believe sweeping generalizations against Southern Californians are appropriate and acceptable in this day and age.

I find it funny how Californians divide their state.
I say that Southern California could be divided by a line from about Paso Robles through Visalia to Sequaia National Park.
Central California is norh of that line until another line from Santa Rosa to Sacramento to Carson City Nevada.
The rest is Northern California. It cracks me up when San Francisco people say they live in Northern California.
They don't.

SF is most definitely in northern California.

I think Idahoboy got out his crayon and a ruler and drew a line on the map. He doesn't understand our way of dividing the state. And yes, Northern Californians are much more SUPERIOR to Southern Californians.

Mary Jane lives on.

I consider myself a current northern californian but a prior southern californian.

I consider myself a current northern californian but a prior southern californian. You ARE a middle child, aren't you? ;D That's OK. That's why everyone likes you! (You and Sally Field - "You like me! You really like me!") ;D P.S. You know I was joking about the post count thing, don't you?

P.S. You know I was joking about the post count thing, don't you? Of course, Mumsie. Nobody could ever get really mad at a person who wears an orange cowboy hat.
