finished circe tonight. fabulous book. great read.
will finish tonight or tomorrow. a fiction selection is up next. although, this time, i might do something a bit different. instead of reading one fiction book, i might read a trilogy before switching back to non-fiction i decided to go the route of the fiction trilogy. i started the inheritance trilogy by n. k. jemisin, the first book of which is called the hundred thousand kingdoms.
i've read jemisin's broken earth trilogy (mentioned in this thread) and enjoyed that trilogy immensely.

Reminds me of a series that was set in the "Twenty Kingdoms". By a guy named John Moore. They were all very snarky fantasy parodies. AFAIK he never wrote 20 books. Bad Prince Charlie The Unhandsome Prince Heroics For Beginners Slay And Rescue A Fate Worse Than Dragons Four of those five were published in a short span of years (2004-2007), and then he never wrote any more Twenty Kingdoms novels.

You guys probably don't know this but I've been busy the past week rearranging the furniture in our house...just because that's what the wife wants. So, I've been moving books and bookshelves from one room to another. 1 I discovered that there are tons of books on my bookshelves that I had planned on reading but never got around to it. The Known World (Edward P. Jones) The House of Sand and Fog (Andre Dubus III) The Inheritance of Loss (Kiran Desai) Little Big Man (Thomas Berger) The Complete Short Stories of Mark Twain Running With Scissors (Augustus Burroughs) Dark Star (Paul Theroux) Gilead (Marilynne Robinson) Madame Bovary (Gustave Flaubert) I, Rigoberta Menchu Of Human Bondage (W. Somerset Maugham) You Can't Go Home Again (Thomas Wolfe) --- 1 Actually, this was a great idea. We created more open space, improved "flow," and identified junk to be either thrown out or donated. curious if you have started any of these. 'the known world' is a good book
