finished the final book of the trilogy.
the novella sequel, the awakened kingdom, is approximately 115 pages. once that is complete, i shall shift back to non-fiction
finished the novella. going to read soren kierkegaard's the sickness into death next will probably finish this today. definitely had a more difficult time with this selection than with fear and trembling.
fiction will likely be next. not sure which book yet

Read Hank Green's novel. Meh. Turns out there is a sequel, however, so I can't stop now.

Novels are strange. I would have a completely different opinion of a novel after several months/years go by vs. when I just completed reading that novel. I remember liking Margaret Atwood's Oryx and Crake trilogy (Oryx and Crake, The Year of the Flood, Madd Addam) but didn't think it was the greatest thing in the world. Now, after several months, I have visions of various scenes from those novels and remember very fondly how remarkable they were. At the time I was reading them, I never used the word "remarkable" to describe them. That trilogy has grown in mythic proportions in my eyes.

Just reread the classic Gordon R. Dickson novel The Dragon And The George. He first wrote it as a shorter story in 1957. Published it as a novel in 1976. Returned to it in the 90s and wrote 8 more novels as sequels (working on a 9th when he died).
Also currently reading We Were Eight Years In Power.

Several months ago, I read Kevin Wilson’s short story collection, Baby, You’re Gonna Be Mine, solely on the enthusiastic recommmendation by a guest writer on the PBS Newshour. The praise was so warm that I couldn’t resist. So, I read it and it was quite good. But I love reading about the mundane that’s brought to life by writers.
