Proboards has just integrated Chat software from a third party vendor called: "AddonChat." I've enabled it for Volley Talk for registered Volley Talk members. volleytalk.proboards88.com/index.cgi?action=chatUSER NAMES ARE NOT AUTHENTICATED AND MIGHT NOT BE THE SAME PERSON AS IS REGISTERED AT VOLLEYTALK!Check it out, let me know what you think by voting, posting here, emailing or PMing me. I've already had some support issues with the Java-driven interface and am looking into ways to get around them for an FAQ list. Please post problems here, as well. Many features are disabled for this chat service without paying extra fees. I'll consider adding the features if there is enough interest.

I was feeling chatty, too.

I think this would be a great idea during the vball season(i mean college), along with having a big thread for matches, we could chat about plays and stats and whatnot in the chatroom. in the offseason, i'm not sure how well it would be used... just my 2 or 3 cents.

Chat? I don't really need to chat with anyone else. I can sustain a conversation with myself for quite a long time.

I could see it being useful during the season as a means of keeping anyone interested up to date on the various match / game scores instead of having a mass of threads / responses that just give an updated score per post.

I logged in. No one was there except for me and Jewel. Fun? No. Lonely? Yes.

I am always the only one in the chat room whenever I log in. This blows.

Suggestions:
1. Once I log in to VT, tell me which posters are online in the chatroom. This way, I don't need to go to the chatroom, login there, AND THEN find out who is there. It's really a pain. With a sneak-peek into the occupants of the chatroom, I don't have to bother going there, logging-in, and then checking out who's there. This eliminates some unnecessary steps. Drawback: I guess this may actually prevent people from checking out the chatroom. If no one is there, I would not check out the chatroom. In order for posters to be in the chatroom, they have to go log in.
2. There should always be someone there. Like a full-time chat moderator. You know, it's like those dance halls of bygone days. If a fella like me wanted to meet and dance with some chicks, I'd go to the dance hall, buy my dance tickets, and then take my pick among the bevy of beauties. Same as the chatroom. I go in there, and there should always be someone I can talk to about my problems (because I have many) and my shrink(s) may be busy.

Does this mean you're going to be staying in the chat room 24/7/365 in order to facilitate #2 Wolfgang?

You have to purchase your chat tickets. You know how that's done, eh, Gorf?
