I thought Metcalf was out of the running due to injury. Other readings have suggested the coaches are using Grand Prix to finalize team and will be rotating certain players each weekend.

Metcalf IS out. The list on the FIVB website is one that has been submitted a while ago. Teams use that to determine the 12 player roster for each weekend of the tourney

Sure is. I double checked the USC website (since the fivb site lists her name as Joanna).... they have the exact same birth dates listed.... so unless she has a twin sister....

Sure is. I double checked the USC website (since the fivb site lists her name as Joanna).... they have the exact same birth dates listed.... so unless she has a twin sister.... Not a sister... Mick got her through the NCAA approval process by taking her Visa and scratching out her real first name. He only had a few minutes between the time she stepped off the plane and the time the customs officials registered her entry to the country, so he didn't have time to think up a good name and just wrote down the name of the continent he'd been reading an article about in the airport waiting area. Anyway, it worked because nobody could find any record of a professional Polish player named "Asia".  |
