Pierce Community College (located really close to Cal State Northridge) is indeed the Brahmas!

Whoever was making the post about anyone in JC being good enough to play in D1 is a complete and utter moron. The play in a JC match is NOTHING when compared to D1 standards. Most outside hitters in JC are around 6'2 and while I know there are D1 hitters that size, most of these guys are not at that level. Second, middles in JC come about 6'4. Not to say that a 6'4 middle can't play D1, but its extremely hard. If you want experience, I will give you some. I played last year for Moorpark Community College as their setter. I then transferred to Quincy University for this season. I know that QU isn't exactly at the top of the college radar, but its a D1 school. I led the state last season is total assists, and finished second in the state to John Mayer in assists per game. I also was on the leader board for digs and blocks. When I first got here, I got worked!! Players here are better, stronger and faster with better armswings and much more control of their body and the ball. It is not possible for any JC player to play D1. Most of the guys with two arms and two legs you are talking about are guys who are 6'6 and the coaches are takin a chance. If not, they are just hooked up or had very good junior careers. Mayer and I both played on the same club team, and I can guarantee you that neither Mayer nor I would ever have been able to play D1 when we were at that level.
