I suspect the USA men gymnasts are girls. I know Tim Dagget is. Most girls would kill to secrete their own lip gloss like Tim does.

Has Marie-Reine Le Gougne turned to gymnastic judging now? Nice pull on the name.

No... The Chinese cheating?!!! No way! Sure, those Chinese girls are definitely not as old as they say they are, but it happens everywhere, even Cal lies about Hana Cutura's age (sorry BearClause, nothing personal).

It was another contest, another time, another country, but it also was a victory by a small young girl over older, more experienced opponents. And, as the English chaplain said in George Bernard Shaw's play Saint Joan, Scene IV: "We were not fairly beaten, my lord. No Englishman is ever fairly beaten."

It sounds like sour grapes to me. Regardless of age issue, which isn't akin to steroid or drug use IMO, I am going to withhold judgement until any evidence or proof of foul play surfaces. The fact that China hasn't had previous success in certain events doesn't mean they are condemned to not do well for the rest of time and them winning the gymnastics and swimming gold is more a testament to the amount of pressure and money that the Chinese delegation has poured into the different programs to ensure such outcomes at these very important Olympics. While some may opt for conspiracy theories and question the Chinese I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Chinese gymnasts have been great for years; and it's pretty clear they put a lot into the multiple medal events. That has to include swimming, which award an obscene number of medals. So no surprise their swimmers have some success. I guess I have no real complaint with the age of the gymnasts; I substitute teach in a district overflowing with Orientals and some of the gymnasts can be nowhere near 16; but so what, to a certain extent. The only complaint would be if other countries are keeping out underage gymnasts. I doubt the USA is.

Lying about age is very common in China. It happens in all sports including volleyball.

Um, thats the rule, they have to be over 16, so yeah, the other countries are keeping out the underage gymnasts.

Wouldn't put it past the gov't to help the gymnastic team cheat by using underage gymnasts. A lot of locals here uses alias'....why? Dunno, but they do. As much as Karolyi has complained, their solution is to eliminate the age limit so everyone can use underage gymnasts. TBH, the IOC should eliminate the sport if countries are willing to put kids through this.

Not gonna cry if they did away with gymnastics altogether. Except for the rings, rings are cool.

Lying about age is very common in China. It happens in all sports including volleyball. There have been so many reports of this in men's soccer domestically. That's why I have my suspicion that things aren't looking good for China in this matter.
