To quote one of the assistants from Kathy's beach volleyball class, "I can land a helicopter in that court, why can't you get your serve in?"

Santos had two of the most horrible matches a player can have. Shanking passes left and right and missing serves. Congrats to China!

I recorded this match, but I don't know if I'll watch this match again. Not pretty at all. Such a shame. I think Joe Biden (who is Obama's official running mate) could've had more enthusiasm on the court than Cuba.

Glad to see Zhao Ruirui played much better today. Wang Yimei was awesome as well, 48.39% success rate > Li Juan 31.58% > Ruiz, 26.67% > Calderon 16.67%.

"It's pretty noisy over there." This match was shown 12:30 AM(PDT) in its entirety...well not exactly, but I remembered reading years ago in Volleyball Monthly how noisy and loud the crowd can be when China's women's volleyball team plays at home. My friend and I got a kick everytime the crowd cheers whenever Team China touches the ball. I haven't read all the posts and I'm sure it's been mentioned already but China is going to look good in the next few years...love how that team runs the slide. As for Cuba...they must love giving away points and they looked listless or if they just threw in the towel and wished they'd rather be somewhere else. Overall I have to agree with TV commentator PAUL SUNDERLAND that both teams were streaky, but that's okay at least I got my fix of watching volleyball on TV even though it wasn't live on the west coast. (post number 1,000 - whoopy and big deal!)

Two of the greatest players ever. 6 gold medals. Main reason why Brazil never played for gold until 2008.
