So, does anyone else notice something wrong?
Rafael Paal, a 6-6 senior outside hitter for fourth-ranked Brigham Young University (9-3, 9-3 MPSF), has been selected the AVCA/Sports Imports Division I/II Men's National Player of the Week after leading the Cougars to a 1-1 record versus second-ranked Hawai’i. He registered 20 kills, tying the school record for kills in a three-game match, in a sweep of the Wahine in the first contest. Paal added five digs, three blocks and two aces, while hitting .607 (20-3-28) for the match. He then garnered 17 kills, seven digs, four assists and a block in a 3-1 loss to Hawai’i. Paal totaled 37 kills on the week for an average of 5.28, nearly two kills above his current season average (3.31).

Yep...right away. BTW...how many players have recieved the award after playing Hawaii? Yet, no UH players have won....very interesting.

I'm surprised it went to Paal after the Cougars dropped Friday's match, but I didn't see anyone from UH who should have received it. They played as a team and Costas played awesome on Saturday, but even Wilton said that he did not show up emotionally on Friday.
In any occurrence, you have to give it up to Paal, he averaged 18.5 kills in two matches that went 3 and 4 games. He's a great, friendly guy (which has nothing to do with him deserving the honor, but makes me happy for him).

I must have missed that match too. I know the Cougar Women will never beat the Wahine, but a match between the Cougar men and the Wahine is just plain ridiculous . Who else besides Paal was in the running for POW?
