Palin is found to have violated Alaska's ethics code and then says she is thankful that she was found NOT to have violated any ethics codes. Now "Uncle Ted" is claiming that he has not been convicted of a felony. I wonder, if they were found not guilty, if they would claim that they were convicted? Probably not...

Thats OK ..
OBAMA is guilty of ethics fraud ..
I wouldn't vote for his record of past associations now ..even if he could walk on water.
I wonder how many Hillary supporters are really pissed off. More than 1 .

Scenario 1) Stevens doesn't consider it a conviction if he wins his appeal. So to him its a matter of semantics, but one would hope that a senator knows that a conviction in a court of law is considered a conviction, no matter what happens on appeal.
Scenario 2) Stevens is senile, he has no idea that he's been convicted. Not likely, but still a possibility if not a probability.
Scenario 3) He's the King of the World!!!

Scenario 4) If you say something often enough and with enough conviction, then it's true!

The addage used to be that the only things that can really end a man's political career are a live boy or a dead girl.
Of course, Ted Kennedy escaped that, so the addage faded, but since Gary Condit I think it is back in effect.

... yet his party just love him to death. I guess honesty and ethics don't really matter these days in either party? Not true. Why do you think the party rejected his wife as their nominee for President? And Obama rejected her as his choice for VP? Sure, some people still like the Clintons; but there are plenty of Democrats who do not.

I guess honesty and ethics don't really matter these days in either party? I thought Bill's antics with Monica were reprehensible, but his performance as Prez was way better than GWB's. I just read through some of the other recent threads, and was amused that Barcelona ragged on Chip about straying off topic, and then does the same exact thing here. In fact, you two seem to be trying to hijack this thread to talk about Bill, which is truly an unrelated subject.

She's just carrying around excess baggage (aka Bill) that most people, including Obama, would rather not deal with. That's not punishment, that's merely freedom of choice. And to get this back on topic before I get yelled at again, Palin also carries around alot of excess baggage that many people would rather not deal with either. Besides all her ethical violations, having a husband who wants Alaska to secede from the United States, and then welcoming that organization and wishing them success in her "Official" capacity as Governor is a lot of excess baggage for poor McCain to carry around. Bad choice by McCain; but hey, that's his freedom. By the way, why does this message board automatically put quotes and capitalize the word official?? Very strange.

The media has absolutely been awful to Palin and her entire family. I think that Obama is a better choice and that he will do a great job for this country.......... but I have never been more disappointed or disillusioned with the media for the ability to tear someone apart like they have Palin. You guys can argue until the cows come home but if you honestly think that Palin has been treated with the same respect and reverence as the democratic candidates then I have some very nice ocean front property in Nebraska. That is dangerous Chip and then their are people like you who believe every single thing you hear as gospel and repeat it over and over again. You do have the ability to assess a situation without a reporter don't you?

I want to add to this...Do you have any idea what the Hollywood community or the media would have done if someone for Halloween had hung by the neck a mannequin of Obama swinging from a rope. Do you think reporters would have been laughing and this would have been just hunky dory. That is the serious unfairness of this situation borderling on sick. I wonder what on earth her kids thought when they saw that on the news?
