The way I see it - not biased or anything mind you ;D - LBSU has three impact freshmen in Tyler Hildebrand, Beau Peters, and Duncan Bundinger. Two setters and a MB. Tyler and Beau can't both set at the same time, so that is a tough one. It will be interesting to see how that all plays out. I want them both to play as much as possible, but that isn't terribly realistic.
If LBSU wasn't so young, you would be seeing a freshman at OH there too. With Touzinsky and Wooton in their Junior year (and being awesome), Tarr is red-shirting. Also, Sliti has improved tremendously since last year and has moved from MB to OPP and is making an impact - which leaves no room for any freshmen.

Nice problem for Alan to have, finally! Plus he is redshirting others as well, a total of 5 freshmen I believe. This team is real deep, young, and gonna get real good down the road!

It is a nice problem for Alan. Things are going to be bright at the Beach for the foreseeable future . You are right about all of the red-shirts. This is one deep and young team!

I think all of the Freshman are doing a great job this year. Most freshan aren't asked to play major roles on their team, they have to take that spot from someone else who has already established himself. Peters is setting well at LBSU, but splitting time. Nihi isn't getting too much playing time, but making the best with what he has been given. Otte and the Brazilian outside both started in USC last match against Pacific that they won. Bart looked to be setting well at the UCSB tourn. As many people have said already, give them time. It is a long year and anything can happen.

agree.... just wait... the boy is hungrey for the ball, and a work horse at that. Definately (under) rated. We'll check the numbers this spring... he'll be at the top I agree with me, because Mark Greaves was one of the most dominating players at in club volleyball last year. I believe that he led a very talented St. Louis High Preformance team to second place, losing to LBC in the championshp match. If he gets a chance to play, he will show that he belongs at a top program and put up some big numbers. I also think Andy Hein has the height to be dominating, but he lacks physical strength and is injury prone, so i think pepperdine is stuck with one very tall bench warmer for the next four years.

Are there any Freshman at UCI? If you are going to rate Freshman then you need to rate freshman that contribute. Pat N. doesn't Play. Otte and USC are 0 - ??, Long Beach Freshman setter got pulled in the UCI game! Jenson at UCSB comes in and out. and UCI is #1.

Unless there are some amazing freshman out there, my vote goes to Azena. He has been hitting and serving rockets out there, not to mention stealing a spot from a 4 year starter.

Hildebrand had a hip flexor injury - maybe he tried to come back too soon? I don't know, I wasn't there. I just know that he was hurt and that is why he didn't set against UCLA.

The freshman Libero (for USC) from Brazil is easily the best freshman in the country. He is leading the country in digs per game I beleive. He get about 17 digs per match every match it seem and passes every ball perfect, the kid is a machine. He is the best libero in the country.
