I know it will probably happen only one in a few million points, but what happens if the ball pops after it is hit? Does the point count, or do they replay it?

Hopefully, Not Richee...they get new ball. I vote the point counts, provided it is hit within bounds.

Why don't we all ask Billings what happens...or the guy trying to dig it? Amazing...That guy has a hammer attached to his shoulder.

When and if that ever happens, the team who hit the ball wins, NO MATTER WHAT!!! Even if a team has lost the first and second games 25-0 and is down 24-0 in the third and it happens on game point, they STILL win.
Then God himself comes down from the heavens and congratulates you face to face.
I hope I've been informative and have cleared everything up on this topic.

I've actually seen the ball pop a few times at our club practice. We have no budget, so all the balls are extras from here or there after about 3-4 years being used as practice balls. Needless to say, they were pretty thin and in bad shape. Only once though, was the ball popped by hitting it to the floor, the rest had help from bleachers, corners, etc.
Some of the game balls took the same hits as the practice ballst hat popped and did not burst. THey were much newer and in much better shape. I'd be willing to concede an automatic game win to the team that pops the ball on the court, because, it'll never happen. Not with a game ball on the court.

All you guys need to get off Billings balls!!! In that article where it shows the ball that he popped, you can clearly see that it must have been 10 years old. The ball would have popped if somebody hit a float serve with it the right way.

That brings up something else that wasn't mentioned. Was the ball popped as he hit it or when it hit the floor? I always pictured it popping when he hit it, I guess because it's more impressive that way, but it could have also popped after it hit the floor.

I know Brook and believe me, I've heard this story a thousand times. The ball was pretty old, but still, I'm surprised that the guy hasn't really popped a couple balls. The boy has more gas than Iraq!

I know it will probably happen only one in a few million points, but what happens if the ball pops after it is hit? Does the point count, or do they replay it? I would think they would play it over since no one would know if the ball didn't pop it would've been a point or not. I don't believe that a team is punished because one of their player's swing at the ball popped it. If so, I would think players wouldn't be trying to hit the ball hard anymore fearing it may pop and turn into a point for the opposing team.
