Slim Whitman's stirring rendition of Silver Bells.
For those of you old enough to remember, Slim actually released a Christmas album. Best vinyl I ever bought!

Electricity? I cant get out of my mind the picture of OJ in a dark cell somewhere singing softly,to himself... I'mm Dreaming of a White Christmas... soon to be issued on Oj's new Christmas Album.... "Only Black men sings the blues" Christmas cover songs..... Hear OJ play "Little drummer Boy" with his broken 5 and 7 irons. My personal fav. Soon to be Ex president Bush chips in with a new soon to be classic.. "I've been a bad Santa all along..." Ex VP Dick sings.... "I shot Santa Claus..oops..." with Caroline Kennedy singing.. "I Am a white Princess" and John Kerry singing .. "Chestnuts roasting over a open Fire..." look to be marketed with every new Chevy full size car that is sold... More? but of course ... We have Hillary Clinton"s version of .."I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause ...under the desk..unrated version..." and Barney Franks sings..."Three wise men" ? mmm Merry Christmas.....sheep...

All Christmas song lists start and end with:
"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Judy Garland.

A discussion of Christmas songs is not complete without touching on the issue of religious vs. commercial Christmas songs. Some prefer the religious (e.g., Oh, Holy Night; Joy to the World; Oh Come All Ye Faithful), while others prefer the purely commercial/seasonal (e.g., Winter Wonderland; Sleigh Bells; Santa Claus is Coming to Town). I'm not a religious man and don't believe in all the holy crap, but I can't help but be moved by the musicality of the religious songs. Some fantastic choir music, I must say. When I hear these songs, I don't think of Jesus Christ but rather, the spirit of the season. Mostly, the gift-giving and gift-receiving part. Yes, put an Xbox under my Christmas tree, will ya?

Still like "Feed The World" from Band Aid. Get the chills whenever I hear Bono sing "Well tonight thank God its them instead of you". Read that Bono nearly did not participate because of this.

I know Madonna covered this song, but, most people are familiar with Eartha Kitt's version better.

I recommend the entire xmas album from "Straight No Chaser" It's fantastic Too bad that their label had to pull down all of their YouTube videos. That's another reason I also check out imeem.com site since they rarely yank music and videos there. If "Straight No Chaser" has a CD out named "Holiday Spirit", imeem.com has all the songs there.
